    Duration of ownership: 6 Months

    Strengths: Excellent high resolution LCD screen; light weight of only 1.5 lbs; very portable.

    Weaknesses:No LCD screen cover; slow 800 MHz Pentium M low power CPU; expensive accesories.

    Overall Evaluation: Samsung was first to introduce to the UMPC market a 7" tablet PC weighting only 1.5 lbs. But the 800 MHz lower power Pentium M CPU is not sufficient for running Vista. As such, it takes a long time for Q1U to boot into Vista. Once Windows is up running it is still very slow unless you optimize Vista performance by turning off all the eye candies features. Samsung Q1u shines in the area of mulitmedia with a very crisp and sharp LCD display which makes browsing and watching video a real pleasure on such a small screen. The 7" LCD screen is just about right for browing the internet on the go. I would not recommend anything else smaller than that. The built-in thumb keyboard is only useful for some short text entries in a well lighted place. I have to use a bluetooth iGo foldable portable keyboard for long text entries. The best thing I like about Q1u PC tablet is that I no longer have to lug around a heavy notebook since the Q1u could handle almost everything a notebook PC could do at a very lighter weight and much smaller size.
