Strengths: It's pretty easy to install
Weaknesses:no
Overall Evaluation: I just got this product and I am so happy to try this new product. The phone is easy to install and get use. If your house can support enough bandwide, it's really good stuff for you to talk with your friend and family. Also, the voice quality is so good that you can rely on it.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: An excellent, economical, elegant and ergonomic solution to the problem of exhorbitant telephony expense.
Weaknesses:Objectively, considering the purpose of the product, I haven't found any weaknesses yet. Subjectively, I feel the handset is a little small for me.
Overall Evaluation: I wanted to save a relative from having to pay almost a $1000 USD a year for a landline connection. My solution to the problem was VOIP. I decided to use Skype as I have used it in the past via computer. Many hours of research led me to Philips 8411B/37 system. Setup was very easy and took no time at all. Before I had my relative register with Skype, I just connected the landline to the 8411B/37; and found the reception to be good. After registering with Skype, the VOIP line's reception was just as good. As far as the voicemail feature, I've had trouble with it; but I believe this has more to do with the Skype network have temporary trouble than with the 8411B/37 having trouble.

Strengths: provides wireless for skype
Weaknesses:popping sounds when calling other systems (like conference calling systems that you may use for work)
Overall Evaluation: i only use the skype portion of the phone so i cant comment on the land line portion.the phone does seem to work fine and from the handset calls seem perfect. however, i have noticed popping sounds or slight cutaway issues when calling certain people or networks. ive tried to make sure this wasnt a connection issue and i have to assume its not the other persons issue since they only hear popping when they get calls from me with this phone over skype.when i call them with skype on my computer, everything seems fine.

Strengths: Super easy to setup, great looking
Weaknesses:None found yet
Overall Evaluation: I've been through a few skype phones by now and wasn't expecting much from this. Happily I was very surprised. his phone looks cool, literally just plugged everything in and turned on the phone and entered the login info and was ready to use. It aquires all your contacts from the web so you do not have to enter them. Is comfortable to hold and sound quality is very good though a tad tin sounding but I've had landline phones like that. Though you can use this as a landline phone also I'm only using it for skype. I see why this phone gets such high ratings, highly recommend for anyone wanting a great skype phone that does not require the computer to be on.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: No PC needed, dual Phone (land line & Skype), DECT (no interference with wireless routers), sleek design, belt clip, 2.5mm earphone plug, color LCD screen.
Weaknesses:No answering machine, not well thought Contact List.
Overall Evaluation: This is overall a good phone, the best I could find after many hours of review (I read reviews of every single cordless phone that work with Skype). My biggest complain of the phone is that it is not possible to have a separate list with contacts you want to call with the landline only, contacts that you want to call with Skypeout only separated from the Skype list. This means that is very easy by mistake to call people with Skypeout credit that you could call with your landline for free. The online Option given by the Phone is to setup Skypeout as default, the landline as default or to asked every time what is cumbersome and easy to mistake one for the other specially if your wife or kids are going to use the phone. The other problem related with the Contact list is that the phone is not "Smart" enough to know if you need to use the area code to call a phone with the landline, so every time you make a call from the contact list it present you a list with the options; the phone with the area code, without the are code, with the international are code, and without it.Be aware that if you have this phone working with other regular phones, and you answer a call with your regular phone, the VOIP841 is going to show this call as a missed call even do you answer it, this will happened with any cordless phone and the way around it is to replace all your phones with additional VOPI841 handsets.I am pretty sure you are going to find plenty of reviews with all the good features of the phone but I wanted to share what I didn't like about it.
