Strengths: Design, menu settings, bluetooth, wireless internet connectivity, extra USB Ports, Blu Ray
Weaknesses:Load times, short USB cable, No HDMI
Overall Evaluation: With the exception of load times for some games, and a strangely short USB Cable, the PS3 is the console to go. Better than the 40GB model for all the extra features and the fact that it is backwards compatible. It has no where near the failure rate of the Xbox. The Price is almost right on in comparison to the Xbox 360 Elite which costs $450.00 and doesn't come with, wireless ethernet, a game or Blu Ray player. The Xbox only has 3 USB ports, but one of them is in back. It seems like alot of money (and it is), but people should look at the overall picture. Even better, the games library is finally picking up and the game producers are making the PS3 the lead console in development.

Strengths: Blu-Ray Video
Weaknesses:loud fan noise when hot
Overall Evaluation: I was looking for a Blu-Ray movie player and this seems to be the smarter buy than the dedicated Blu-Ray players. You get a whole multi-media systems as well as the movie player. It involves a few extra clicks and you need to buy the Remote control or have to put up with the gaming remote control that comes with it, but it's worth it for what extra's you get.

Strengths: The PS3 system was easy to set up and easy to play. Having a wireless game controller is amazingly great. The kids and pets aren't tripping over the game as with other systems.
Weaknesses:The Motorsport game is hard to enjoy thouroughly on my 26 inch screen non HD TV. It is difficult to read the race info and hints at the start of each track, because of color contrast on the screen.
Overall Evaluation: Overall, this is a great system with all the possibilities of online gaming without using my PC. My husband loves the off roading of Motorsport. Wireless game controls are the way to go.

Strengths: 80GB Hard Disk, PS2 games compatible, Motorstorm game included, Bluray tecnology, stylist and great design, wireless control, & good price compare with 60 & 40GB -double capacity with PS3 game include
Weaknesses:Not included HDMI cable & extra wireless controller, price high compare with other systems.
Overall Evaluation: With the 80GB PS3 can play PS2 games - new 40GB PS3 version doesn't play PS2 games. At the same time with Bluray technology movies has a great resolution in my lcd tv. All in one - play games, movies, and view digital photos using SD card. I'm satisfied 95% with this system, 5% unsatisfied because of the price.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Lots of features, Bluray, wireless controller, backward compatible, internet access
Weaknesses:Cost, expensive games, no Hdmi cable
Overall Evaluation: I bought this mainly as a Blu ray player. Compared to other players, it's a good value. It is quite a bit more compared to other next gen consoles though. The games look awesome with a HD tv. I wish I could figure out a way to use this with a universal remote instead of using the controller. I like the interface and it's easy to use. The online access seems cumbersome though. It will upconvert standard def dvd's too. I'm a little worried about the price drops lately and different models be discontinued, but I jumped anyway.
