Strengths: Flat top, people stack junk on top of.Large 1000 page cartridges.Used by many in my company, printed 1000's of pages okay so far.
Weaknesses:Has a thinking period, cartridge cleaning, alignment.
Overall Evaluation: We've replaced a lot of the older DJ 600 and 800 series with this model. Cartridges last about the estimated 1000 pages, initial Black (10) cartridge is 1/2 size, 500 pages.Large footprint, but everyone uses top to stack things on. We have 14+ of these, over 2 years and not done anything mechanically to them for repair. None have failed.

Strengths: 4 different ink cartridges, good tool to let you see how much is left, prints on both sides of a sheet
Weaknesses:Not very good as a photo printer, but I knew that up front.Because it duplexes there is a minimum ½" at the bottom of the page you absolutely cannot print in.
Overall Evaluation: I did have some problems at first, but the latest update for the firmware took care of that. I like having separate cartridges so I only replace the color I have to. This printer uses separate print heads as well. It prints really great on 24 pound paper (heavyweight). This printer replaced an old HP 855C that gave me over 5 years of service. It looks like this printer could easily do that.

Strengths: Fast, solid, high quality output, low running cost
Weaknesses:larger footprint than average home deskjet
Overall Evaluation: This printer was installed on a USB port on a networked PC running Windows 2000 which affords 3 other Windows XP PCs on the LAN access to it. The driver software installation went smoothly. There was a pleasant lack of additional, un-necessary software on the desktop after the process. It uses 4 separate high capacity ink cartridges (black 69ml; red, yellow, and blue; 28ml) and 4 spearate print heads. These individual consumables have higher capacity and are less expensive than all-in-one cartridges and can be replaced separately as needed.

Strengths: Very durable and flexable for even home use. Very competative cost for a business printer that can be used at home.
Weaknesses:None
Overall Evaluation: I have been looking for a printer that has separate ink cartridages, durable as a business printer, but with a price from home use. This printer meets all of my expectation and more. It is a business printer, with all the functions one would expect from a business printer, but with a price that I could justify using it a home.

Review:
HP Business Inkjet 1200d
This affordable inkjet offers good paper handling for a busy small office, but compromises on print quality.
