    Strengths: Good clean lines overall.

Weaknesses:The design just proves that laptops are ready to replace these integrated desktop designs. The following article breaks it down nicely: http://www.klamour.com/blogs.php?location=vblog&element_id=32

    Strengths: Can run Vista!

    Weaknesses:Not made by Microsoft!

Overall Evaluation: You would be better off to buy a real PC! http://fakesteveballmer.blogspot.com

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Simple to use, fun features for non-techie users, attractive all-in-one

Weaknesses:Cost is higher than most computers, especially when you have to justify it to non-Mac people (until they use it the first time)

Overall Evaluation: I got this iMac for my 70-something year old mom so she'd have something fun and useful to learn. She's not scared of technology, but if she can't figure something out fairly easily, she just won't use it. That was her long-time concern with computers. She wanted to get on the web and make greeting cards and pay her bills, but thought it would be too much effort. Enter this great iMac. The moment she unpacked it, she was amazed at how well-constructed (German heritage, here) and attractive it was for a computer (to her, something most people are forced to use in a cubicle). She's had a great experience with it so far. I started off with helping her set up email, etc., but soon, she didn't need me and was collecting her pictures in iPhoto and syncing her iPod mini on her own. Now she's comfortable on the web, and we've even used iChat for video chats cross country. She doesn't need a powerful workhorse machine, but this little Mac could be that for her if she got to that point. Her favorite features are the big 20 inch display for looking at pictures (without her glasses!), iChat, the Mighty Mouse (because it's easy on her hand to scroll web pages), the remote control, so she can listen to her music via Front Row, and iCal, which reminds her about her bills and baseball games on TV (she's a big fan). Her next goals are to send out greeting cards she makes with iPhoto, and learn another foreign language using podcasts through iTunes.Seriously, if my mom can get this much enjoyment out of a computer, anyone can.

Strengths: Great design, Easy to use, Easy to train on...

    Weaknesses:Still looking...

Overall Evaluation: Back on Black Friday I purchased a 2.8GHz 24" iMac for myself - my first Mac since being in the computer field since the early 80's. The experience has been so refreshing and smooth that I decided to purchase this 2.0GHz 20" iMac for my 77 year old Mother, who relies on me to learn anything new with computers. She has enjoyed how easy it has been for her to switch over and pick up on how to work with this new system. She hasn't had the system for even a full month yet, but she already has been able to do more with the iMac and OSX than she had with her old PC in the past 5 years or so. It has been wonderful to have my Mother asking me to show her new features each time I visit or call because she doesn't feel intimidated, and is eager to learn more! Just like they say... It just works!

Strengths: Overall best computer I have ever owned. Compact, fast, great display, keyboard very Nice, easy to use, simple setup, file transfers and I am still using Tiger.

Weaknesses:I have not found one yet.

Overall Evaluation: I have been using Apple computers since 1986 (started with Apple IIe). Also been using PCs at work. No comparison for ease of use, intuitiveness, reliability. This is the best one yet. I will install Leopard and and Windows XP next year (2008) and let you know more.
