Duration of ownership:
Strengths: (1) Fast printing speed(2) Good quality printing(3) Reliability
Weaknesses:(1) Installation could be more straightforward(2) Not so quiet operation(3) Large Size
Overall Evaluation: This is a high-quality printer that is solid in most dimensions. The text printing quality is very sharp, and the printing speed is fast enough for most jobs. The manual feed (envelope, odd sized papers, etc.) has been very reliable. For the past 3 months, I haven't experienced a single paper jam or any other problem. I also have an older generation of this line (HP2300), and, if this printer is comparable with the one, the toner will last for a long time. This is your typical high-end consumer HP printer, and you cannot really go wrong with this machine. On the downside, the installation was somewhat tricky, and took a while. I had to tweak the installation, and retried a few times to get it right. Not a major issue, but could be better. Also, this printer is not as quiet as some other printers (especially Japanese models). Finallly, this printer is large and heavy -- probably necessary to maintain high-quality, but I would prefer a smaller foot-print. This will occupy 2/3 of your desktop unless you have a large desk.Overall, a good printer, and I would recommend this over the cheaper versions of HP laserjects. I've tried them, and they were not very reliable.

Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks
Strengths: Fast printer that does great duplexing
Weaknesses:Pricey without networking
Overall Evaluation: This is a great printer. As a previous owner of a 2300 series printer, main difference is the speed (30ppm). Design of case is good. Makes quality printouts. No manual provided except on CD if you want to print it out. This printer only comes with a startup foldout poster. For $650, you would think that network connectivity would be included. Of course, HP can provide that for $250 more!
