ATI Radeon 7500 Video Card

Strengths: -Earliest (and cheapest) usage of Hydravision and all the new smoothing graphics that ATI came out with. -Again it is worth its value and does beat out or is quite on par with Nvidia Geforce2's.
Weaknesses:Because it is a budget line card it won't run the newest games at good settings, but it is worth every penny for its value. Otherwise look for Radeon 9000 or higher.
Overall Evaluation: As far as performance goes this card is absolutely worth its value. I actually tested this by myself with a 3D test (Vulpine 3D Mark) It scored nicely (Roughly 30 fps at medium settings with 640x580 res). If you're on a budget then this is definitely the card for you. Compatability with my HP computer (600mhz pentium iii) was no problem. Once I downloaded the latest drivers from the ATI website everything worked nicely. My Sapphire OEM version actually came with a heat sink instead of a fan which is actually preferable for me since i don't like the noise, but thats just a precautionary statement in case you are picky about fans or heatsinks. I was able to get mine for 50 bucks! definitely worth it.

Strengths: Installs easy
Weaknesses:Drivers and Control panel
Overall Evaluation: Bought the power color and good prices and fast delivery from NewEgg! Just built a new machine and included this card. Went to Power Color web page and they tell very little about drivers up date. Plus they don't show the version of control panel they have. Went to ATI and looks some better but still confused on which driver and which control panel to download. Anyone have any suggestions it would be appreciated. E- mail at wylds@swbell.net

Strengths: Affordable with decent quality
Weaknesses:Documentation
Overall Evaluation: I installed the ATI Radeon 7500 into an XP machine--no problems. It replaces an NVidia GeForce2 integrated graphics. It blows away the integrated graphics. I use a 1024x768 LCD monitor and the windows startup screens don't have the fizzles, the text is very sharp at a wider viewing angle. Its better all around. As discussed by another reviewer, I wanted to do the virtual desktop/Pan and Scan in XP for my 1024x768 monitor. In XP Settings I could not select more than 1024x768 due to the DCC (monitor set) max resolution. My trick was to download a monitor driver for a bigger but similar monitor that has 1600x1200 resolution. Then followed the other reviewers instructions--disabling DCC, setting the ATI monitor settings to 1024x768, then expanding the XP resulution to 1600x1200. It works perfectly. Thanks to the dlauber, from IL for the hint. I'm very happy with the card and the DVD/File Viewers that come with the product look pretty fine too. I haven't gotten into the other utilities yet. I wish it came with a DVI-CRT adaptor to make it easier to set up a second analogue monitor. The documentation isn't the best but it was adequate to get me through the install without much trouble. It discusses updating BIOS and uninstalling old drivers first and my system with its integrated graphics didn't seem to match up with their instructions just right. I figured it out anyway and all went smoothly enough. For under $60, this card is amazing.

Strengths: Nice, faster fps than my previos Vcard. Cheap price too. Good for 2d/3d games. Easy installation.
Weaknesses:After using powerdvd xp it changes my refresh rate to 65hz. Drivers--Drivers
Overall Evaluation: If youre looking for a good video card for your games and you dnt have that much money.. Try this radeon 7500 and you wont regret. And dnt worry for poor driver performance coz you can update it anyway.

Strengths: awesome rendering, excellent on games, good mpeg player
Weaknesses:support
Overall Evaluation: i installed this in a brand new system, after i tried the radeon 7000 first. not a vast difference, but worth the possibilities for the $15 price difference. i tried warcraft, masterCam and autoCad on it and it soars. no glitching or pauses. only issue i had was when i played a video from warcraft, a pink stripped appeared on the side of the screen box. no one know what it is.
