Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks
Strengths: Greater stability with the Vista operating system. Ability to save information and/or source info. directly from online genealogy services.
Weaknesses:Fewer report printing options. Fewer sorting options when searching for individuals. I haven't discovered a way to search for a woman by her married name.
Overall Evaluation: I'm not 100% convinced that the 2008 version is an improvement over previous versions. However, the upgrades DO seem to prove that the company is working to correct some of the glitches. For instance, upon installation, Family tree maker Encore 2008 wouldn't recognize that my computer was connected to the internet via my wireless router. Service pack 2 took care of that issue immediately, but I had to download it directly from the manufacturer website.
