Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Great Sound, Good Size, Long Range Remote, Ipod Variety Compatible, TV output, AM/FM,
Weaknesses:HEAVY Unit, HEAVY AC Adapter, AM/FM not so great. No alarm,
Overall Evaluation: The Logitech Pure Fi Elite is the updated version of the Audiostation. It fixes some of the main problems the Audiostation had, and the reasons why that system was so awful. The Unit itself is quite heavy, but it wasn't meant to be portable anyway. The AC adapter is also literally a brick in terms of weight and size, they should have accomodated with a longer extension cord to prevent such a brick from hanging midair when stationed on high platforms. The sound quality is great -- clear treble, clean bass, and has a lot of power for such a small unit. Each speaker has a 1" tweeter and 4" woofer. Turning up the volume to 90% It still sounds great without any crackling or static. When I put the Eite side by side with my old Audiostation, I could easily notice the difference in sound, especially with increased volume. Accessories: The remote is very nice. Just the right size, it is backlit, and the corners are rounded. I could get good reception from 40 feet away. The buttons on the remote contain only the needed functionality that a remote should have and nothing superfluous. The unit comes with 9 different adapters to ensure that regardless of what type of ipod you have, it will fit in the unit. It has a video out port on the back of the unit, ideally so you can run it to your TV and play your ipod videos on a larger monitor.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Crisp sounds, attractive design, lots of trays for different ipods.
Weaknesses:No tray for the iphone, but that's ok with me since I leave my iphone's case on. the range for the remote is kind of narrow. Mine also came with a slightly rusted grille.
Overall Evaluation: If you can get this for a low price (below 70), then I'd say it is definitely worth it. The drop off happens pretty fast from there because soon I think you're better off just buying a better system (even computer speakers) with an audio input jack.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Big sound, bass is indeed visible if you remove the grill
Weaknesses:Weak FM reception, power on issues
Overall Evaluation: Bought this unit out of impulse, being a frequent Logitech consumer makes everything it makes tempting. :) I don't have a iPod yet but going to buy one soon, so my review will mostly about the features other than the iPod support. The unit doesn't look modern but not dull either, it sits nicely on my nightstand and doesn't look that bulky. The power supply is huge considering the size of the main unit but I was able to hide it under the bed so it's not an issue for me. The FM reception is at best mediocre, I could receive 3-4 stations really well but all others (8 of them) come with static, maybe the FM antenna cable is just too short. I needed to press the power on button twice or more to turn the system on, and this applies to both the main unit control and the remote. Also, the system lacks the alarm function even though it has a built-in clock, which would make the system ideal for a bedroom. On to the good part, the sound of the speakers is actually quite loud -- I could easily hear it from the other end of my home. The bass is powerful but I don't hear too much in the mid or high range, maybe it's just the FM programs. The remote is nice and easy with my hand, the back-light on it is really handy.

Strengths: loud, clear
Weaknesses:power brick too big, the touch panel is hard to access.
Overall Evaluation: sounds come out pretty good. little bit over size but acceptable. the remote control is hard to use and only short in range. over all it's pretty good speaker for the price.

Duration of ownership: 6 Months
Strengths: Excellent overall sound quality, particularly when compared to other units considerably more expensive. Have used this unit in our kitchen for about 6 months, and it has been a welcome addition.
Weaknesses:None so far, but maybe could be mildly critical of the somewhat boxy or staid design.
Overall Evaluation: Overall this is an excellent product at an incredible price. We did not buy this unit for radio-it is an iPod player afterall- but our experience with the AM and FM reception has been just fine. We have been pleased beyond our expectations, particularly when compared to all the disposable electronic gadgets that flood the market these days. I am buying another for my office.
