  Strengths: Compact design. It uses the computers power.

  Weaknesses:none

  Overall Evaluation: For the price this was very good way to add a floppy drive for my laptop. It is very portable can fits my laptop bag. This drive was very easy to install under Windows XP. I have not had any problems with this device.

  Strengths: Plug & Play Win2k & up

  Weaknesses:Win95 setup difficult

  Overall Evaluation: The LaCie USB Floppy Drive for PC has worked well there was no major setup on Win2k & up but I had some difficulties on Win95 not the typical use. So I highky recommend the product.

  Weaknesses:wouldn't withstand my jumping up and down on it

  Overall Evaluation: This product is a very basic unit that fulfills the purpose. many laptops no longer come with floppy drives and yet they still are needed from time to time. ghost for instance requires a startup disk not a CD!

  Strengths: Slim and sleek design. Works right when you plug into your computer via USB cable.

  Weaknesses:Seems Fragile so don't drop it!!!

  Overall Evaluation: Although it seems delicate and fragile, the floppy drive does it's job. Plug and Play is perfect. I have both a MAC PowerBook and a PC notebook. Both laptops were able to use the drive with no hassle.

  Weaknesses:A bit slow (inherent to floppies anyways)

  Overall Evaluation: There's really not that much to say about this floppy drive. It works to see files and boot from floppies. In fact, the main reason I bought this drive was to be able to use floppy boot disks since my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive.I've worked with a few other USB floppy drives that are a bit faster (2x, I think, with this product being 1x) but for occasional use, it doesn't matter, especially with this price. Old, slow floppies are on their way out, but still necessary for diagnostics and stuff upon system POST. I may occasionally use one to share a file with somebody and of course this drive will work for that.For small, quick file transfers on a cheap medium, nothing still beats a floppy. This drive will fill the need for those without built-in drives with a low price and simple use (plug and play with WinME/Mac OS X and above.)
