Manufacturer's Description
Apple 13.3" MacBook Notebook
Perhaps the most profound design element of MacBook is what it lacks: bulk. A mere 1.08 inches thin and weighing in at only 5.0 pounds, MacBook cuts a slim profile on any desk (or in any backpack or briefcase). And since MacBook is sure to become your constant companion, a durable polycarbonate shell keeps it ready for the rough and tumble of everyday life. Now that's grace under pressure.

Strengths: It's a Mac! Recently upgraded with no price increase!
Weaknesses:none worth mentioning
Overall Evaluation: I am a long time Mac desktop user, and recently decided to add a MacBook to my workflow. I am a Photographer, and frequently travel. I realized that having a laptop in the field to begin processing my RAW files made so much sense. I chose the mid-level MacBook, which now comes outfitted with 2GB RAM and a 160GB HD. Since I utilize Photoshop extensively, I chose to buy a 4GB RAM kit, replacing the 2GB. The Mac hold 2 RAM cards, VERY easy for a user to swap out via Apple's instructions in the manual. The Mac worked perfectly with the 2GB, which would be quite enough for most users. The screen is amazing, colors and clarity are perfect. New to this model...you can use two fingers on the trackpad to SCROLL windows up/down and left/right, which is a great feature for web browsing, etc.

Strengths: Easy to get up and running, great design, loaded with features, relatively light and compact.
Weaknesses:Lack of an Apple tech phone number anywhere.
Overall Evaluation: I am very happy with the MacBook to so far. It only took a few minutes to set up and it drivers for my modem and printer were already installed. My only complaint is that I was having trouble moving files from my old computer and needed to ask a few questions. There wasn't a phone number anywhere. Even though I bought the extended care package, they all come with 90 days of tech support. When I went to the store the next day they were less than helpful. With my extended care registered I'm in good shape.

Strengths: Portable, Sound, Color, Keys, Hard drive, DVD-R,
Weaknesses:Two USB ports, Video Card, Battery, Total RAM capacity,
Overall Evaluation: This computer has worked fine besides the fact it can be slow at times. The programs I use mainly are adobe and they are The CS2 Suite (which dont work very well with the intel processor) so each program seems to take a good amount of RAM and bogs the computer speed. At times it will freeze. I have found running four programs is more then the machine can take.I use this laptop for work and have it hooked up to a 22 inch Monitor. It took awhile to find the best resolution but looks great running on a bigger monitor. If you are looking into this model make sure you upgrade the RAM you will save yourself a lot of bog time.
