  Duration of ownership: 2 Days

  Strengths: Simple to install. Works great. Ingenious power cord design.

  Weaknesses:Cords provided are too short and you will have to use other connectors. Especially for the power supply however the cords are of good quality.

  Overall Evaluation: I had real bad signal problems before buying this product. Since installing it my reception has been better than ever. I did have to go out and buy some cable to complete the install but it was a minor inconvenience and the payoff is definitely worth it. If you are having problems with your cable reception, go get the Signal Booster.

  Strengths: Still not determined

  Weaknesses:Lower channels on one television have a poorer quality picture. This may be due to the current location of the booster.

  Overall Evaluation: I have six VCR's and two Television sets hooked to my cable, in three separate locations in the house. I also have a Cable Modem for my computers. The signal for VCR's and Televisions is normally good but the Cable Modem drops out fairly frequently. I ordered the Motorola Signal Booster to see if I could improve my Modem reception. I still have some dropout of signal but I believe there has been some improvement. I am still installing the booster in different locations on the cable to determine if it will improve the signal to the modem. I do know that the quality of the lower channels on one of my televisions has decreased. This may be due to the current location of the booster.

  Strengths: Improved the few channels I was having a problem with..

  Weaknesses:AFter about 6 months, it started to cut out my cable modem.

  Overall Evaluation: After using this booster to boost both my cable tv and modem, my internet connectivity went out. After troubleshooting I determined that the booster was the culprit. I had to move the booster using a 1 to 2 splitter to only accomodate the TV and even then, I am still getting some lines in the TV. I may have to get a new booster to see if this one is bad.

  Strengths: Does exactly what it is designed to do, amplify a weak signal.

  Weaknesses:F Connector for power is a little clunky.

  Overall Evaluation: Have 4 televisions, cable modem and a media pc tuner connected to this drop amp. Corrected a weak signal issue that was causing poor picture quality on upper channels, poor upload speed and degraded download speed on home network pc's. This device is an amplifier not a magic box. If you have a poor quality signal it will help but won't fix the problem (Garbage in then a amplified garbage signal out). If you're incoming cable signal level is under +2db then you will have to correct that first. This drop amp supplies +15 db of amplification and provides a suitable signal level for all the devices listed above. The signal strength from my cable provider is +6 db at the ground block (Most Digital Cable Boxes have a setup screen that will display the signal strength at the set top box. You may have to search on line to find out how to get into setup). This +6 db signal level suitable for 1 television and the cable modem. The addition of the extra televisions dropped the signal to a point where picture quality and data rates were not acceptable to me. This product solved my problem.

  Overall Evaluation: This is a product that actually performs it's designed intentions. It cleans up the signals and I now have almost the same as DVD quality on channels that were horrible before. I can't believe the difference. I'm ordering more for friends and family and maybe a spare. It's that good.
