Strengths: Good UI. Apple iPhone kind of interfaceVery quick startup time in synching with the satellitesFairly accurate positioningClear and loud Text to speechWorks as GPS, the way it is supposed to.
Weaknesses:No AC adaptor with limited POIsLimited Battery lifeSometimes froze but recovered with a hard reboot.Your destination could be on the other side of the street, common problem with most GPS
Overall Evaluation: Got it at for 100 buck at Frys from last thangsgiving sale. Was very reluctant to open as I could not find any reviews online at that time. But finally gave in, and was very pleasantly surprised. Good packaging and unit looked sleek with SD slot, volume controls, USB charger and head phone jack with 2 power switches. One soft and another hard switch. Use the soft one for most in between transits and the hard for reboots and power off completely to save the battery.Very pleased with the startup times and synching with the satellites. Very impressive UI and touchscreen. Fairly accurate routing. 1 Gb SD card with maps. You get a DVD where you could make your own on a 2 GB card. Make sure you format it as FAT/FAT32, otherwise it may not recognize it. Limited POIs but could add your own. Very fast routing recalculations. Very clear Text to speech.Overall very happy with the device and highly recommend it.

Strengths: Accurate, free Downloadable premium maps, 2 year warranty, size, super fast route recalculation.
Weaknesses:No room charger or usb cable in the box, very less POI in the standard SD card that comes with it, no bluetooth, no RF, no canada maps
Overall Evaluation: Excellent GPS for basic use for a very good price. Initially thought the purchase was a waste of money as the out of the box SD card contains basic maps of US only, with very less POI. Without a good POI database GPS is a waste, seems like V7 recognised this drawback and made available premuim maps for download from the support website - all you would need is a seperate 2GB SD card and you are good to go with an excellent GPS at the fraction of the price of any other GPS with comparable features.

Strengths: Multimedia player, Text to speech, cheap price
Weaknesses:Small POI database
Overall Evaluation: This is my first gps I have ever owned. After long hours of research i found this unit to offer the features i wanted with a price I was willing to pay. On the first run out of the box, it acquired the GPS signal in less then 3 minutes. I have taken it on the road multiple times since then. Its Text to Speech feature works great with sometimes jerky but easy to understand street names. On my trips down the road it kept the gps signal no problem, the voice prompts were spoken in proper timing with multiple warnings when changing roads. One of the problems i noticed is that the Poi are limited to mostly restaurants , hotels, gas stations, and certain electronic stores. Walmarts, k-mart, and target not included. Also general attractions are limited. Though if your willing to typing locations manually this can easily be fixed. When using this device in a large city i found that the end destination is not exactly correct. Even with the built in poi, it seems to tell me i have arrived at my destination sometimes a 1/4 mile early. Sometimes it tells me to continue to drive even when i have reached my destination. This bug is not noticeable when using it on a long trip to a different city or state, but as far as accuracy down to the foot, it defiantly does not do that. The multimedia player on this device is good. It plays any normal format of video, audio, and pictures. The picture quality is good considering that this is a gps, not a dvd system. Over-all i highly recommend this system.
