    Duration of ownership: 3 Months

    Strengths: Low price, small footprint

    Weaknesses:Possible high toner costs

Overall Evaluation: We purchased 5 of these for our office at a rock bottom price direct from HP for our executives who needed individual printing units. So far there have been no issues.Setup was simple on both PCs and Macs, but did require installation of an HP driver. I went and downloaded the newest drivers direct from HP (without any bloat/adware that the CD version usually contains.) Plugged in the USB cable and we were printing nearly right away at decent clip.First page comes out in less than a minute of turning the printer on and the PPM seems to be about 8-10 (it's typical to take the manufacturer's stated amount by half and call that acceptable...). Text is really the only thing being printed here and it's fine. No complaints of paper jams yet either.Though I'm not quite sure of the page load, we haven't yet needed to replace any of these toners. But for the price of $50 each (the toner costs more than the printer...) it's worth it as long as these last a couple years. I expect them to meet or exceed our future expectations.

    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

Strengths: Compact, very cheap, good text printing

Weaknesses:Manual duplex, more expensive toner, graphical poor print quality, cancelling jobs, only one paper feeder.

Overall Evaluation: This is a budget laser printer. I bought it for $40 less than the cost of its toner ($64).Personally I bought this printer because I needed a printer (besides the inkjet I already have) to print official forms so mainly text.Text pages look OK. Speed is also OK for a budget printer.I shared the printer on a Windows Server 2008 (x64) and I am using it from XP and Vista (x64) clients without having any driver issues for these new OS.However, regarding graphics printing is a different story. Graphics look somehow bad either in 600x600 or 1200x1200dpi (in fact there is no difference between the 2 resolutions).A second issue regards cancelling current print job (an ongoing issue for HP laserjet printers within the last 20 years). The only way to cancel the current job is turning off printer, un-plug it from computer, restart print spooler service, plug it back and turn on printer. Sometimes if this is still not working you have to restart your computer too. This is not the case with my inkjet printer Canon but it was the case with my previous inkjet HP printer.Another bothering issue is having only one tray and not the manual feeder (which usually I am using to print other formats like envelopes, labels, etc.).The manual duplex is useless because you should rather print odd pages and turn pages and print even pages and printing is much faster than turning each page (attention in manual duplex page must be turn in a different way - read the manual).Toner cartridge has the same price as cartridges for other models but it covers only half of the pages (1500) therefore you get a higher price per page (almost double - 4 cents). If you print graphics price will be even higher.Overall if space and money are an issue and you don't need to print a lot, and when you print you print mostly text documents, this is a very good printer for you.

    Strengths: Good quality, Compact size

    Weaknesses:NONE

Overall Evaluation: This is great printer for many basic print jobs! No problems at all, its fast, the print is crystal clear and the price is cheap! I bought it from staples. It is extremely quiet while printing and is quick. The best part is its small size.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: 1. Compact size - measuring 14" x9" x8"2. Capable of accepting pages up to legal (8.5 in x 14 in)3. Very inexpensive price

Weaknesses:1. Cable not included (as is true for most printers)2. Does not support two-sided printing3. Toner can be expensive (as is true for most printers)

Overall Evaluation: I bought this laser printer from a promotion buy at Staples. And I am very satisfied, since the price of this compact printer is very close to an ink-printer. But as you may know that laser printers give you better use of the toner. It is also very small compared with many other laser printers, and can be put on the table without taking too much space. It doesn't print color.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Days

    Strengths: Small, nice design, cheap

Weaknesses:small cartridge, no separate manuel tray

Overall Evaluation: it comes with a driver software cd with instructions instead of paper.Small cartridge prints upto 1,500 expensive compare to other brands small printers that will print 2,500. But it's good if you are not printing much and need to save some desk top space. I like the small size. it doesn't have separate manuel feeder for envelpe etc. but I found envelopes go through by locating it on top of the stack of the papers(without taking the paper stack out)and they go trough without problem. Recomend for small printing home or office compared to my old brother HL-2040 which broke down so easily and the manuel feeder didnt work very well and took more space.
