    Duration of ownership: 7 Days

Strengths: Easy set-up with reliable secure connection.

    Weaknesses:none

Overall Evaluation: I got this wireless router due to the frustration of an unreliable connection with my old unit which needed to be reset almost everyday and sometimes multiple times in a day. I have online streaming lectures that I watch during the evenings and needed a more reliable and secure wireless router which this unit provided in ACES. I am yet to experience any headaches since it has provided me the unprecedented reliability that I was looking for.Installation and set-up was very easy for a non-geek like me and it provides oodles of options for gamers and more advanced users that I dont understand. This is a great piece of hardware and is among the best options out there.

    Duration of ownership: 30 Days

Strengths: Great reception and speed. Good for video. Seldom if ever needs restarting. Great router.

    Weaknesses:None.

Overall Evaluation: I have had this router for over a month and got it to replace a router that dropped the signal every time it rained. Sounds strange, but it happened. I was hesitant about a G router because I needed one that would wirelessly send movies to an extender. This router works beautifully. The router was easy to set up and I plan to keep it for a while. I would recommend this router to anyone looking for a dependable router with excellent connection speeds on the internet for wireless networks.

    Duration of ownership: 4 Weeks

Strengths: fast, cool blue lights, 1gb lan speed, easy hook up, small footprint

    Weaknesses:none noted

Overall Evaluation: This Router has worked great for me right out of the box. Just hooking it up I reduced my connected speeds on most gaming servers by 20%. Easy install and configure. I also bought an 8 port GB switch to hook up to it and all work very well.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Works with all next-gen consoles, good wireless range (even through walls), lots of configuration options

Weaknesses:Pricey, most configuration changes require you to reboot the router, irregular firmware updates

Overall Evaluation: Used this router for about a year now and have been very pleased with its performance. Throughput is good over wireless and outstanding when using a wired connection. Signal strength, even upstairs and through walls, is very good. All my consoles (Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii) work just about flawlessly. With all its configuration options, setting it up can be a bit daunting, but the wizard does a good job of getting the basics up and running. There are a lot of things you can do with the firmware, though most changes you make require you to reboot the router, which can be a pain. I wish D-Link would issue more frequent firmware updates. The most recent one as of this writing isn't certified for use with Xbox Live, so I'm going to stick with the previous version. This router is also expensive compared to most others. For all its features and its ability to interface with both PCs and consoles, it's well worth the money.

    Duration of ownership: 4 Months

    Strengths: Cool web user interface.

Weaknesses:Does NOT support 8-bit SSIDs (only 7-bit) as of this posting.*Some text fealds are shorter than previous D-Link models

Overall Evaluation: It does NOT support 8 bit SSIDs. For example it does not like the "ñ" in the SSID. I have had other products in the past from D-Link that DID support it before. Why not this fancy model? It's a cool router, but I will not be able to use it's wireless because in my situation it needs to support 8 bit SSIDs. After bouncing emails back and forth with D-Link about 10 times they finally told me this SSID limitation. When I had called their support whoever I talked to does not understand what I'm talking about. They keep thinking I'm talking about the encryption. 7bit ASCII only on the SSID name.....how sad. I'm completely unsatisfied because I can't use it the way I intended and D-Link support sucked. The phone support was horrible. The tech gets confused with what I'm talking about.
