Overall Evaluation: you really can't beat the value of this machine. For $299, it acts like a notebook computer with full functions except the performance. Start up time takes longer than the same class of old windows xp PC because solid state hard drive inside.

Overall Evaluation: Asus has built a winner with the eee pc. Its an unbelievable the amount of computer you get for three Benjamins! This lilliputian computer comes with a great screen, wireless internet, and all the preloaded software you need. It's amazing just how small and light this computer is.However, there are some drawbacks to the computer. I've been using it for about a week now and these are some of the conclusions I've come up with.-Video playback is not always smooth. When you're running full video or demanding online video, the video is sometimes jerky/ out of sync. I've fixed this by fiddling with the settings in the media player and making sure I don't have any other programs running in the background. Forget about playing HD video.-Tiny keyboardIts a tiny keyboard. To all you with fat fingers- you might want to get an external keyboard.-Lag when launching programsWhat do you expect with a 600 mhz computer with 512 ram.Overall, if you're using the computer to surf the web and work on documents, it is perfect for you needs.
