Strengths: * Fast printing speed* Built-in support for wired/wireless network connectivity
Weaknesses:None
Overall Evaluation: Since purchasing this printer, I bought two more to satisfy the needs of my small business clients. All of the people I installed this printers for are very happy with them. Some of the users may complain that the printer does not have enough diagnostic lights to provide a comprehensive enough status reporting. These users should try connecting to the printer via a web browser to view a VERY comprehensive real-time status report on all aspects of printer operation and configuration.

Strengths: wireless, fast
Weaknesses:none
Overall Evaluation: This is probably one of the easiest printer setups I have ever done. After following the instructions on the included cd, the printer was wirelessly printing from our 5 computers in the house. It prints very fast, the type/images are crisp and clear, and its totally silent when its in sleep mode. (Which I was worried about, but it turned out great.) I would recommend this printer to anybody that wants an inexpensive laser for their home or small office. Its fantastic!

Strengths: Wireless network printing, Easy to setup, compact size, Lower prise.
Weaknesses:The high yield black toner TN360 for this printer only can print 2600 pages. That is not "High Yield" compared with other model.
Overall Evaluation: If you need a home networking printer, Brother 2170W is exactly what you need. Compact size, support USB, LAN and Wireless Network printing, easy to setup even through wireless. And last thing is lower prise -- $89.99. The print quality is also good, fast printing. I like this printer so much. Overall, it's highly recommended.

Duration of ownership: 1 Days
Strengths: Very low price for the supported features. Fast print. Easy set-up even in wireless. Supported by Windows and Linux
Weaknesses:Lightly builtFair Graphic capabilities in reproducing B&W
Overall Evaluation: This printer was on sale on Buy.com for a few days. I paid $89.99 for it with free delivery. This is a real bargain particularly if we consider all the nice interface features supported (USB+Ethernet+Wireless). I am running Linux UBUNTU 8.04. The driver is neither provided by the Linux distro nor BROTHER; however the generic PCL6 driver provided with the distro does the work and the installation was straight forward. The printing is really fast even in wireless mode. The quality is excellent; however if your document comports some pictures, the reproduction is fine but not stunning. In summary, this is an excellent printer for home and home-office.

Strengths: Wifi/Ethernet/USB connections and quality output
Weaknesses:Manual paper feeding mechanism finicky
Overall Evaluation: Brother hit a home-run with its easy-to-set wifi implementation. The instruction manual is clearly written to walk a new user thru various available connection methods. Able to get the printer setup and running in a few minutes, by using direct ethernet connection to set up wireless setting of the printer. Once done, it's wire free and reliable operation.Output is laser quality and fast. Printer driver is well laid-out to control various aspects of printing. Further fine-tune is possible via the web access using IE. The only miss is the somewhat weak manual paper feeding, which results in restarting the printer from time to time. Overall, it's highly recommended.
