Strengths: Cool design.
Weaknesses:The Mini USB connector feels loose and keeps disconnecting. The software has poor resources.
Overall Evaluation: The Mini USB connector feels loose and keeps disconnecting. The USB cable is too short and is a proprietary technology. It's had to find a longer one. I recommend for the ones that bought this driver to careful plug the cable and don't move the drive during data transfer. Moreover, the software has poor resources. So, I'm frustrated with this product and I don't recommend it.

Duration of ownership: 2 Months
Strengths: Light, compact, fast and only USB access
Weaknesses:Easily stained encasing, but this is only cosmetic and if you really care.
Overall Evaluation: A great HDD that enables to back up your important documents and take ti anywhere. It also a great companion to take to work and on flights. Installation and use are as simple as Plug-n-Play The drive on this is a 5400rpm. I wish they were able to provide 7200rpm disks in this compact capicity.

Duration of ownership: 18 Days
Strengths: Product is well designed and seems well made; lightweight and attractive. Setup was easy plug-n-play. Data transfer rates are satisfactory.
Weaknesses:Initially addressing the drive during any session takes several seconds. Also, there seems to be an intermittent problem about unsolicited compression of files before transfer.
Overall Evaluation: I bought the unit on the recommendation of my wife, who has been using the 250GB Passport happily for over a year. It seems to be meeting my needs. I don't know whether to attribute the problems mentioned above under "Weaknesses" to the drive or to my Vista operating system on my Toshiba laptop.
