Duration of ownership: 6 Months
Strengths: Carl Zeiss lens, great image quality, easy to use
Weaknesses:It could have been thinner,but it's ok
Overall Evaluation: An excellent choice for this price.I also wish Sony would use other memory card formats, like SD as the most digital cameras use, because Sony cards are more expensive than the standard SD cards.Well.i definitely advice DSC-W120 for totake awesome pics.

Duration of ownership: 60 Days
Strengths: 4X zoom, battery life, high-quality images
Weaknesses:out-dated appearance, thickness
Overall Evaluation: From the point of view of the image quality, it is among one of the best from cyber-series. From my experience, Canon always gives better image color and quality, however, this one is comparable. The motion-stablization function is also improved. However, this is kind of thick. Not very modern looking. A little out-of-date, if you don't care, that's a good choice.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Price; slick feel in hands; good quality lens
Weaknesses:Minimal packaging (no paper manual); proprietary memory card
Overall Evaluation: I was looking for a good budget camera, with a decent amount of features. I've primarily been a Canon supporter, but thought this camera was a better value. Thus far, I am not disappointed! I love the metallic ridgy feel of the camera in my hands. It doesn't slip, and allows for a firm grip. The LCD is penty large enough, and there is still a viewfinder if you need it. The picture quality is awesome, thanks in part to the good build quality of the lens. My only real knocks are the minimal packaging, because I didn't even get a paper manual. I had to access the PDF from the enclosed CD. I also hate the fact that it uses a proprietary sony memory card. These are more expensive than the more standardized SD card.

Strengths: AF speed, Price, Image Stabilization, Image quality in day light
Weaknesses:Flash recycle period is decent, not great. No user manual control.Inaccurate AF when dark
Overall Evaluation: Sony W120 is great value camera that will make you smile every-time you shoot pictures with it.Its AF in broad day light is great, super fast, and accurate. AF is coupled with IS system that works just as great. Image quality is great up to ISO200, and good at ISO400. ISO is not recommended but it is usable when downsized.A flash performance is good, but its recycle time is about average among other point-shoot cameras. Also I does not have any manual controls what so ever. No AV, Tv, or manual mode exist. If you want to play is aperture, shutter speed, or both, this is NOT a camera you want. I use it for general purposes. Also AF even with AF illumination light, can misfocus at times. The images may get out of focus, so check your picture after shoot just to make sure your picture is in focus.Overall, W120 is a great value camera with great potential image quality. Use it well, and you will be happy with every shot you take.
