    Duration of ownership: 3 Months

Strengths: fast, small footprint (compared to previous HP OfficeJet), excellent price

Weaknesses:comes with starter toner cartridge, scanner slower and smaller (compared to previous HP OfficeJet)

Overall Evaluation: We have had both HP Laser & Inkjet printers for years and have been pleased overall. Before the M1522 we had an OfficeJet which was nice but we found that we did not print in color all that much and the cartridges had to be replaced even though they had not seen much use. The M1522 warms up and copies/prints very quickly. Two small things I do miss from our OfficeJet are automated two-side copying and a faster/larger scanner bed. I would not have paid full price for this printer (or any printer for that matter) but at half off I think it was a great value.

Strengths: flatbed scanner, network, laser, fax

    Weaknesses:slow scanning

Overall Evaluation: This is a great All-In-One Laser Printer. My previous printer was the HP Laserjet 1020 which had a sheet feed scanner, but this one has a flatbed scanner and network ready! Easy for copying pages from books, pictures and documents. Network printing was easy to setup and works flawlessly. The machine itself doesnt take up a lot of space and fits perfectly. The included software is a bit bloated though. I have yet to have any problems or paper jams. Highly recommended!

Strengths: HP Quality, reliability, easy installation

    Weaknesses:Bit on the large side!

Overall Evaluation: We have been impressed with the quality and speed of this unit. It is also networkable, so it's added functionality has been a bonus. With the HP brand behind this unit, we feel secure in our purchase decision and its reliability. This was a more important buying point that all out price. If there is a downside, the unit is a little large, but it may need to be this large for all the functionality. With the $200 rebate, it was a real bargain!
