    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

Strengths: More capable, safer, lots of features. driver issues are resolved or go virtual.

Weaknesses:I upgraded my laptop to handle this monster. It is large and uses CPU cycles. Can be trimmed down however.

Overall Evaluation: I like an active desktop. I have 10 gadgets running, and multiple apps as well. I have a tv card, media center with a movie, or recorded tv going on at the same time. My upgrade future proofed for windows 7 but I will keep Vista cause it does all I can throw at it.

    Duration of ownership: 6 Months

Strengths: Faster; more stable and reliable; loaded with features.

Weaknesses:Still requiring fast CPU and lots of RAM to run smoothly.

Overall Evaluation: Vista Ultimate SP1 contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability and performance issues surfaced on the previous released version. Vista SP1 also supports many new hardware and new emerging standards. I notice that my PC systems run faster and is more stable after Vista Ultimate SP1 installation. File copying is significantly much faster. And so are boot and power down, and network performance. As the previous version a minimum of 2GB of RAM is required for optimum Vista Ultimate SP1 performance. I have 4 GB of RAM in my PC systems running Vista 64 Ultimate SP1. I highly recommend Vista Ultimate SP1 on all systems with duo core and quad core cpu.
