Strengths: Fast, Reliable, Built-in BitTorrent Client, Built-in Media Server, Built-in Print Server, Support of Direct Connection of USB Drives / Digital Cameras / UPS, Feature-rich, Easy-to-use Interface.
Weaknesses:A tad on the expensive side for a home user.
Overall Evaluation: All of the extremely positive reviews (from technology writers to home users) about this product are true. The ReadyNAS Duo is a compelling device. It strikes a fine balance between reliability, performance, feature-richness, and price that fits very, very well with the home-user market. Although it's not for every home, it certainly is targeted towards more advanced home users with multiple computers and lots of media. The ReadyNAS Duo gives you: 1) Data Reliability - Adding an optional drive gives it redundancy, protecting you from drive failures 2) Data Accessibility - Because it's a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device, you have access to your files from almost any computer in the world. 3) Convenience - From the print server and BitTorrent client to the automatic USB Drive backup and photo server, the ReadyNAS gives you bonus features that are not only time-savers, but just plain cool!

Strengths: Well built, Powerful software, Very close to be a professional class NAS. Hot swappable disks. Operating system on flash ram instead of disk. Good overall implementation
Weaknesses:Software a little hard to master, in particular the group and user management features is not very intuitive. Only 256MB of on board memory however it can be upgraded.
Overall Evaluation: I bought this to replace a Buffalo Live station that went bad and had to send back for repair and I am impressed by the implementation of this little server. It is way better then the Buffalo for just a little over the price. I bought it from Newegg with an extra 500GB HD to have full redundancy (RAID 0) for $430.00 and it is worth every penny. I now have a place were to store every important file music collection etc. that is fully redundant without the need to back up every day. The built in FTP, HTTP/S and multimedia servers built in are very handy and work as advertised.
