    Strengths: great price at the time

    Weaknesses:none

    Overall Evaluation: Was the perfect replacement for a hard drive that up and died. Installation and setup went smoothly with enclosed documentation. This Maxtor hard drive has been working flawlessy since installation.

    Strengths: Fast and cheap!

    Weaknesses:None so far!

    Overall Evaluation: This drive has done me well. I a using it as my boot drive. It loaded XP in no time. I have trasfered over 60GB back and forth on it with no problems. I am very happy with my purchase!

    Duration of ownership: 1 Days

    Strengths: Good EIDE drive if your looking for standard functionality. Works fine with most anything, including demanding games like Oblivion and the like.

    Weaknesses:None, really, had no problems.

    Overall Evaluation: Not much I can say, as it is the standard. Works great, hasn't given me any trouble and loads windows rapidly. The capacity is all I was worried about, but it was around 190 of the 200, so I can't complain.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Good, stable drive as long as you keep it well ventilated.

    Weaknesses:Runs quite hot, make sure there is good airflow around, and more importantly, under it.

    Overall Evaluation: I used this hard drive in an external enclosure that had no airflow under the drive and it would fail about once a week under constant use. That said, I have had this drive for over a year and a half and except for the time in the external enclosure it has never failed even under near constant use (I use this drive in my file server where it is almost constantly accessed).

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Good capacity at a reasonable price. Works very well inside a ReplayTV unit as a replacement for the original drive.

    Weaknesses:none so far.

    Overall Evaluation: The hard drive in my ReplayTV unit started acting flaky so I decided to replace (and upgrade) the hard drive. Maxtor makes the original hard drive in these units, so I looked for a Maxtor unit that would be compatible and would give the best bang for a buck. This was the one!
