    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Cheaper than competition; memory - 3 GB; Intel core 2 duo processor.

    Weaknesses:Windows Vista

Overall Evaluation: This is my 2nd experience with HP computers. I think they make good computers at a competitive price. I had a Dell laptop that stopped working because the power jack stopped working. Although it is a tiny piece, the entire laptop has to be opened up in order to fix it and in that attempt, the motherboard got fried. So if you are considering Dell, beware!! I have been using this for only a week so no problems with the laptop so far. Battery power seems to be good. The screen size is good if you like watching movies. If you buy a laptop PC, you'll end up with Windows Vista which eats up a lot of memory, don't get anything less than 3GB. This one has 3GB which make it OK. However, I was expecting the laptop to work faster for 1.8 GHz Core 2 duo processor; - it is not that fast. I think part of it is because Vista uses up a lot of memory. Overall, a good laptop for your money. The alternative is to spend twice as much and get a Mac. That way you don't have to deal with Vista
