  Strengths: Compact design, lots of features

  Weaknesses:No analog passthrough

  Overall Evaluation: This converter box comes in a nice compact form factor and has buttons on the box for power on/off and channel up/down. The universal remote should be able to control the power, volume and input source on your TV. It is programmed by holding the "TV Power" button on the remote and then pressing the "Up" button until the TV set turns off. The instructions say if the TV does not respond withing 150 trials, then it can not control your TV. The instructions also have IR Code listings - so I assume that an IR blaster should be able to control it. The Electronic Program Guide is limited by the amount of data from the broadcast feed. Some other boxes (like the Zenith DTT900) only show what is currently on, and what will be on next. The tuner sensitivity is almost as good as the Zenith DTT900 - I think I get 1 channel less. If you like style and features, then this box is a good selection. If you want rock solid basic performance, then go with something like the Zenith DTT900/901.

  Strengths: Can be had for fairly cheap price after using the coupon. Easy to set up. Compact size.

  Weaknesses:Universal controller part is not really good. Certain models seems to suffer sound problem at some channels. No S-Video output.

  Overall Evaluation: Digital Stream's DSP7500T DTV Converter Box is a good converter box that can be had for fairly cheap price after using the coupon. Even without using the coupon, the price is still cheaper some other brands. The converter box is fairly easy to set up. The connections are straight forward and the menus are easy read with fairly big fonts and are easy to configure as well. The size of the converter box is quite compact compare to some. The controller of the converter box have built in universal controller for the users to configure for the use with one TV of choice. The functions of the universal part of the controller includes power on/off, volume control, and input selection for the TV. Universal controller part is not really good. Some functions does not seem to work for certain TV and possibly not working at all for certain others too. Manufacturer of the converter box does not include a list of possible supported TV manufacturers. Certain models of the converter box seems to suffer sound problem that affects some channels. The sound problem is fairly easy to identify and probably would be fixable by manufacturer. The converter box does not have S-Video output, this might not be appealing to some, but it is user dependent. Overall, Digital Stream's DSP7500T DTV Converter Box is a fairly good converter box that can be had for cheap after applying the coupon. Though without the coupon, the converter box is still cheaper than some others. Even with some possible problems, user dependent, it still does what it should, and that is digital to analog conversion. And that should be all that matters...for some.

  Strengths: It has pretty good signal and channels are clear.

  Weaknesses:I can't seem to get one of my fav channels thought. I'll miss it in 2009.

  Overall Evaluation: The box ws a pain to get with the coupons. Took me about an hour to get it and the worker knew I was pissed. Makes me not want to redeem the 2nd coupon because I bought one just to see the wquality and get a 2nd one if this was bad.

  Strengths: Remote has TV volume control.

  Weaknesses:Poor reception in the high 50s channels.

  Overall Evaluation: Poor reception in the high 50s channels. Check which digital stations are transmitting in that range or will be after 2/2009. As an example, a station broadcasting analog on channel 4 may be broadcasting its 4.x digital channels on channel 59.

  Strengths: Very easy to install,Appears very well made.Has a six month warranty,Comes complete with Cable to tv plus remote has batteries furnished

  Overall Evaluation: This Digital stream Digital TV decoder is a wonderful purchase for the money.It will receive local tv stations as well as sub-stations in cable like quality. The remote control has rating block as so children can be blocked out from certain programs.Also, The remote has a tv strength feature so you can see the broadcast power of the local tv stations So you may make adjustments for better viewing...
