    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Reasonable price. No monthly fee. Free overseas telecommunication.

    Weaknesses:Wired. Difficult setup.

Overall Evaluation: I purchased two of this camera to talk with my family who live oversea. I'm satisfied with this gadget. Well this is not OJO, and I don't pay anything monthly. So I didn't expect a crisp picture. It saved me money and get me closer to my family. Unfortunately setup is rather difficult with non-Dlink routers.

    Duration of ownership: 15 Days

Strengths: -free calls - great quality video and audio (with phone) - easy setup - price - lightweight

    Weaknesses:not everyone has one yet

Overall Evaluation: The only thing holding this back from being the greatest thing ever is that not everyone has one yet. I have one buddy who has one, but I can only call him so much ya know? Anyhow everything else with this device is pretty much perfect. I don't see anything wrong with it design wise and the technology lives up to what it's supposed to do. My buddy and I both have DSL and get great frame rates when in the calls. Plus the resolution is good enough to read small words on his shirt when he is in focus. (side note: it would be nice to have an auto focus or at least be able to set the focus with the remote so you don't have to get up and chage the focus when you change positions.) Setup was simple, just obtain IP automatically and setup your personal info like name, phone number, speed dials, etc. and you are up and running after one reboot. Overall i am impressed with this device and the technology it uses, VoIP, H.323, etc., and how it can even work with someone on netmeeting because of it. Quality isn't nearly as good when talking to someone with netmeeting because they have a wimpy webcam and a slow frame rate, plus choppy audio. Don't just take my word for it, I'd suggest buying a kit (2) with a buddy at a place that will let you return it within like 7 days or something and I will bet money that you will fall in love with it. Making phone calls without video is soo 1900's. Get with the times and get a videophone!
