    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Easy to install, gets you a boost in coverage area

Weaknesses:As others have said, rotating antenna seems a bit flimsy

Overall Evaluation: This card increased signal strength, but not by a tremendous amount. I also don't love having the card stick out of my laptop a good two inches. I'm just using it now when I need a boost in coverage. Otherwise, I fall back to my internal wireless card.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

    Strengths: Good range

    Weaknesses:VERY unstable directional antenna.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this when my other Hawking WiF HWL 2 Pro locator died with barely one year of use. In the reviews I read before purchasing it, it was mentioned that the flip up antenna was easily broken. Well, mine broke within 2 days of use and I knew of the possibility. Not a good purchase!

    Strengths: Easy to use

Weaknesses:Not as stong as the one that came with my Pavillion laptop

Overall Evaluation: I have a HP Pavillion Notebook that is already wifi enabled. I purchased this card hoping to increase my area of coverage from my home. The card did ok but not as good as the one already in my computer. I tired this with a Hawkings Tech booster but my HP Pavillion did better with the already installed adapter.

Strengths: Steerable antennaWPA supportEasy installation and configuration

Weaknesses:A little pricey, but not many similar devices available.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this card since my Motorola WiFi card didn't pickup the signal from my access point very well. Signal strength was marginal, even though the AP was only 20 feet away. The Hawkins Hi-Gain card picks up the AP with 100% quality, -46 dBm signal strength, and noise level of less than -96 dBm.

    Duration of ownership: 7 Months

    Strengths: Does what it says

    Weaknesses:Install software always errors

Overall Evaluation: This wireless card does improve signal quality over built in laptop wireless. However, I don't really see much difference over using a normal wireless card. And for $50 it is kinda expensive. The rotating antenna does feel cheap and like it will break off. But the driver and wireless software is the worst. It is always shutting itself down when you are searching for networks. And just after the last windows update, it will not work at all. I'm not a big fan of hawking products. Just waiting for another company to introduce something similar for $30 or less.
