Strengths: iPod works fine, but there was no book or instructions and it did not come in a box with a UPC code to send in for a $5.00 rebate

Weaknesses:No box, instructions or UPC code`

Overall Evaluation: iPod seems to work fine. My daughter found directions on-line but we cannot send in to get the $5.00 rebate from Pricegrabber because it did not come in the original box with a UPC code. That bites!

    Strengths: portability, ease of use

    Weaknesses:you can't replace the battery

Overall Evaluation: Purchased the iPod mini for my 16 yr. old daughter and she loves it. As soon as she got it, she transferred all of her music off of the family computer without a hitch. It goes where she goes.

Strengths: Since I love the color pink, I have to say that the color is gorgeous! And it matches perfectly with the white scroller. The size makes it easy to carry around and the sound it provides is great too!

Weaknesses:It takes awhile for it to load when it's been off for awhile and its hard to play games using the scroller.

Overall Evaluation: I really like the physical characteristics of the iPod. It is absolutely adorable and I love showing it off. However, I am disappointed that there is no AC charger included. The old 4GB minis came with one I think, and I think that if this one is an improved version, then it should come with one too. It's also very different when using a round scroller rather than a normal scroller that goes up and down. I guess, in the end, I'm just satisfied with its looks, rather than the overall performances.

Strengths: Long battery life. Easy to use. Very compact, easy to transport.

    Weaknesses:No color screen.

Overall Evaluation: My girlfriend loves it. It has plenty of space. Very easy to use. Just like any other ipod except this new ipod charges through your usb port.

Strengths: impressive battery life, very tiny and light, feels sturdy, extremely intuitive operation

Weaknesses:headphones are weak, no wall charger

Overall Evaluation: When I finally received my new iPod, I was up and running in only a few minutes. The installation CD basically installed itself... there was no troubleshooting. Also, iTunes made it too easy to configure playlists and upload them into my iPod. This is the best mp3 player I have ever used. I tried out a friend's Dell Pocket DJ and it was awful! It was not straightforward, its scroll barrel was very awkward and my friend complained battery life was very poor. I also took a look at the Creative Zen Micro and the Rio Carbon, but their build seemed very cheap. The only real con is that it doesn't have a wall charger, it only comes with a USB2.0 cable. I was initially amazed at how fast my iPod charged off the USB port, but then I started wondering what I will do when I travel without my laptop... time to spend money on accessories! Also, I would like to note that even though the requirements say you need USB2.0 or firewire, I have been able to use a USB1.1 port just fine. It's a little slower, but it works!
