Strengths: natural color and smooth gradation. Wide-TV Recording mode.Progressive Recording mode.

    Weaknesses:narrow lens view.vertical smear.Manual control operationality.

Overall Evaluation: -- Video cam Color is not too showy, Edge is less enhancement, Gradation is smooth. It means that video quality is Natural and Real. Lens view is narrow on normal recording mode, I recommend Wide-Conversion lens or change Wide-TV recording mode. Progressive recording mode has much wide view, and much image quality. if you want to make video like cinema, try this. Manual control on Screen panel has bad operationality. -- Still cam It seems overtax for this cam to take 1600x1200 still images, you need photo-editing software or something to solve image quality. However 640x480 is very good. Flash and focus system is excellent, easy to shoot.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: 2 Mega pixel output, Good quality lens, manual focus, networking capability and a light weight product.

    Weaknesses:Small LCD display.

Overall Evaluation: This is the first time I baught a camcorder and was not sure of any of the camera's in the market. After a deep research I found that TRV70 contains all I need in a camcorder. The wonderful thing is it gives a great still quality and great output in the night view also. The networking capability is good but I do not think if it is used heavily. This is a great camera and I suggest you also to give it a try.

Strengths: Sharp picture. The picture color is close to the reality.

    Weaknesses:Don't see it

Overall Evaluation: I think Sony did a good job making this camera. Sony chose the high grade lens so that the result was very magnificient. It worth to buy this camera.

Strengths: Sony name and lens quality.

Weaknesses:Poor still images. Poor on-screen menu visibility.

Overall Evaluation: All the sales reps raved about the touch screen menu system, but is it useless outdoors since it is too hard to view and cannot be observed in the viewfinder. Any outdoor light renders the LCD screen useless, and the menus cannot be accessed any other way. Still images were supposed to be impressive with the 2 Meg still capability, but the JPG compression is too high and you get lots of jagged edges and poor contrast. Way overrated still capability. I opted for this model because it had the highest resolution, uninterpolated still images. I am VERY disappointed with the quality of the still images.
