Weaknesses:Huge indentation and noticeable scratches on the exterior of the laptop.

Overall Evaluation: I just received a laptop ordered from PCSystems. The laptop was damaged. It had scratches and an indentation on its exterior. The CD/DVD panel was exposed. I called the phone number listed on the invoice. The customer service were rude and quite inadequate. He told me what do I expect from a used laptop. I was told after a demanded my money back that their had a 20% restocking fee. To say the least, I am disappointed with the laptop.

    Strengths: doubles as paper weight

Weaknesses:Five hard drives in 1.5 yrs. Screen replaced twice, keyboard once

Overall Evaluation: you might think i beat this thing up, but i barely even travel with it. the worst computer i've ever owned. everyone i know who owns a dell has problems. not sure how it is possible this computer gets a good rating. dell has completely fallen off with regard to quality. i would say never buy a dell, especially this one.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

Strengths: The system is solid and stable. The separate volume buttons provide easy access. Battery life is pretty good in my opinion to go to a clients or to a meeting.

Weaknesses:The case should have more metal in it and maybe some rubber or other tacky service that would make it easier to grip. The keyboard feels springy, good for quick hands.

Overall Evaluation: I purchased the additional modular battery for long days. My computer will last over 6 hours and up to 7.5 with both batteries in the computer. Dell has outstanding technical support that covers everything except fire and theft. They answer their phones in under 5 minutes and they are knowledgeable. I recommend getting the Gold Tech, or Premier, or Gold support to get all the features that Dell is really known for. I looked at other competitors on the basis of technical support and warranty, Dell had the best one available. There are other notebooks out there that are great performers too, but if you're traveling and concerned about the bumps and bruises your $1600-2500 investment will be taking, I recommend Dell's warranty and support.
