    Strengths: Garmin name.

Weaknesses:Features do not work as expected.

Overall Evaluation: If you are interested in this unit, I strongly recommend also looking at the Magellan 4700 for over 100 dollars less. Whats the point in having lane assist if its not really in the product? Returned it for the Magellan and its lane assist actually works and works well. This Garmin is garbage. Too many useless features packed into one device. Wants to be everything to everybody but does non of it well. Very disappointed. I purchased the Magellan 4700 and I'm very happy.

Strengths: WAAS enabled, excellent voice recognition and remote, one of ONLY TWO Garmins that support Avoidances by road name (the other is the 855), beats the 1xxx series with its audio jack; removable battery

Weaknesses:Froze once while navigating but returned within 10 seconds; Favorites menu displays "None Found" very often; can't hear loudly it in noisy situations if not using audio out/fm transmitter.

Overall Evaluation: I did extensive research before buying this. I also own a Garmin 760 and a Streetpilot 2820 (broke). My priority for a GPS unit was to have WAAS, Junction view, audio out, and specific road avoidances (so that the routing engine doesn't force me on a road I don't want). The 885T has what I want plus voice recognition. The weaknesses in my opinion are something that a software update can fix. However, I am not sure if Garmin would. Also, this is my first time buying from BuyDig.com, and at this price I wasn't sure if the unit is legit. It absolutely is, and my proof was that when I first turned it on, I checked the "Last Position", and it showed Taiwan, where the unit was made, and the bread-crumb feature was clear! In brief, it is the best out there, regardless of the price-point.

Strengths: Voice recognition, lane assist, but the best feature was the ability to selectively detour by excluding specific roads on the route, a feature which has been missing on Garmin GPS units for a while.

Weaknesses:Unit repeatedly froze for no apparent reason during navigation requiring removal of the battery to restart.

Overall Evaluation: This is the second unit that I purchased form Buydig.com. The first one would repeatedly freeze while navigating for no reason requiring removal of the battery to reset it. I thought it was defective so I returned it for another. The second one had the same issues so I made sure the firmware/software was current but that didn't make any difference. There is definitely a problem with the firmware/software for this unit. This is not the quality I expect from Garmin and I have three older units with no problems. I do recommend Buydig. They accepted return of both units with no problem. They have great customer service.

    Strengths: MSN Direct

    Weaknesses:Non Working Features

Overall Evaluation: Garmin fails to tell you their Lane assist does not Work. When I contacted them about this they said it only currently worked in a few cities. They did say would would be adding more cities in the future. When they are added you will have to purchase a map update to get it to work. They will not tell you what cities are going to be added or when they will be. If you want the lane assist you will have to continue buying updates. They do not tell the consumers this until after they buy the unit.

Strengths: Garmin 885T Excellent Map Set and Display, Lane Assist of real value, High Sensitivity Receiver, Voice Recognition works Splendidly, Blue Tooth for Cellphone excellent. Intuitive and fun!

Weaknesses:FM transmitter somewhat underpowered in crowded FM band regions; adequate on quiet frequency. Less important as you would not likely keep tuned to your GPS for long periods of time.

Overall Evaluation: Overall, I am delighted with the Garmin 885T. There is nothing on the horizon that is a feature/price/quality equivalent. The voice recognition is not a gimmick; it works splendidly, and is the only safe way to alter programming or switch modes or screens while driving. Blue tooth hands free phone audio quality was excellent as well.Lastly, I must say that BuyDig has longitudinally been 100% reliable for purchases, exchanges and even credits when needed. They are a quality organization.
