Duration of ownership: 2 Days
Strengths: Size, Flash, Vibration Reduction, LCD Screen, Slick metallic finish, weight
Weaknesses:Video quality not the best, Sometimes takes longer time to focus, Weak battery life (comparably)
Overall Evaluation: I've had a canon sd400, and a canon sd750 IS, but this is by far great size-wise. Its really slim and does not have a protruding lens making the power-on time especially quick. My biggest problem with Canon's ixus camera's is the fact that if you turn the flash off, you get very blurred images unless you use a tripod. The VR feature on the Nikon is great, I've taken many pictures in low-light conditions with the flash turned off and they have come out amazingly crisp with little or no blurring. The Digic processor of the Canon is a tad better than the Nikon, since some pictures of the Nikon seem a bit lost in the JPEG transformation. Also, the video recordings are good, but the sound recorded is really bad. Probably a lousy microphone device ? The user interface takes some getting used to, if you are a familiar canon user. Nevertheless, it is strong in every other department, except battery life, which is pretty short, make sure to get a backup battery. For under 200 bucks, this is a great slick metal (very little or no plastic-y parts) camera.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Stylish, VR, large screen, great image quality.
Weaknesses:None - this is a great combination of quality, features, style & price.
Overall Evaluation: Vibration Reduction is a great feature that just isn't available at this price elsewhere. True to it's "S"-class designation, this camera is stylish (no protruding lens!). The large screen (3.0"!) is awesome. Flash range is good (rated at 18 ft.). Image quality is great. Other features are what you would expect at this price range or better, making this a very attractive buy.
