    Duration of ownership: 6 Months

Strengths: Premium upgrade in every sense, great search and navig features, makes multitasking easier than imagined

    Weaknesses:Nothing found

Overall Evaluation: It was a smooth transition and every feature on Win 7 is better designed and very much user-friendly compared to Win XP. The extremely simplified search and navigation makes it a real upgrade and facilitates multitasking to a great deal.

Strengths: Fast startups and shutdowns, and more polished look than Vista. Nice perks like 'shake' to minimize and maximize windows. If you have an external hard drive, Backups are easy, and can be scheduled. Fewer UAC popups. You can check memory usage in Resource Monitor. DirectX10. RUNS 32 BIT SOFTWARE. Was not ask during clean install of upgrade for proof of ownership of Vista or XP. Vista users will not notice much difference in menus.

Weaknesses:Does not include full driver support for RAID.

Overall Evaluation: Overall, I'm glad I upgraded to 7. The OS is responsive, and has had some nice features added. So far, I've only had one freeze while running the utility for my HP Photosmart D5069 printer. But it works fine. Don't expect full support of all your software. BE SURE to run the Windows 7 compatibility utility before install 7. Its available on Windows 7 website.

Strengths: Quick, intuitive and really easy to use.

Weaknesses:Uses a lot of ram, make sure you meet the system requirements before installing.

Overall Evaluation: I have been waiting for a clean version of Windows for long time. This version has everything I need.. Its also really good at managing resources when you play games.

    Duration of ownership: 8 Weeks

Strengths: It works better than Vista

Weaknesses:It's still Windows and forces you to purchase updated software to run on it.

Overall Evaluation: I was forced to purchase Windows 7 because the Microsoft techs in India could not help me fix Vista. Microsoft is running a real racket. Someday maybe they will wake up and produce a product that will run universally.
