Strengths: Picture and sound is amazing!

    Weaknesses:None

Overall Evaluation: Before getting this amazing little box, I would watch movies through my laptop. It was hooked up to my TV with a serial monitor cable and using a headphone cable to my receiver. I'd view the movies in "Full screen" mode using a player like Media Player Classic. I thought the quality was decent on the laptop but after switching to the WD TV box, I was totally blown away. The same movies look and sound so much better! I hooked up the WD TV to my receiver and TV with HDMI cables. Now you cannot tell the difference between a 1080p MKV playing on the WD TV and a BluRay disc playing on my Sony BluRay disc player. And, the DTS sound is perfect. This box blows me away. Awesome.

Strengths: MKV Files Play Perfect... 720p & 1080p!!!Streaming works awesome!!!

    Weaknesses:None

Overall Evaluation: If you are looking for a HD Media player with streaming this thing is superb. Reading this slowly may help...First off, I download all my movies from usenet. I stream them from my computer upstairs to the WDTV LIVE downstairs... the WDTV is hooked up to my receiver (Onkyo TX-SR607) via HDMI... Then my receiver outputs the Surround Sound Audio (DTS or AC3 [depending on the file]) and sends the HD video(720p or 1080p [depending on the file]) to my projector (Panasonic AX-200U) on a 120 inch screen. Now the streaming is a bit tricky to get working with Windows 7 (Homegroup Settings) but I figured it out in about an hour. Keep in mind I have a WIRED network in my home. I have no experience using the WDTV LIVE with a wireless network... wired is always more reliable. It updates automatically through the internet... never have had any problems after an update.Lets say I get my hands on a 1080p BluRay Rip Of Avatar. My computer sends HD Audio & Video to the WDTV LIVE & We are in business. Perfect Play Every Time. This is the same with terabytes of movies I have downloaded.I tried An Egreat m134a before this & I hated it.Get On Usenet. Get This Machine. You Are Set For Life.TB44

    Strengths: User interface

Weaknesses:Quality Control appears to be inexistant, hundreds of users have complained about their unit going dead after firmware update to 1.01.12

Overall Evaluation: WD TV live worked great until the automatic firmware update 1.01.12 that 'bricked' the unit.Only worked for 1 week, tech support totally useless, only offered to replace my NEW unit with a REFURB.
