Logitech Premium USB Headset 350

Duration of ownership: 5 Days
Strengths: USB connection; built-in mic; no installation needed
Weaknesses:very poor sound quality; not comfortable enough; doesn't really look like a sturdy, longlasting thing; volume control is not very convenient
Overall Evaluation: I feel I was cheated by Logitech. I have used many of their products and have always been satisfied with their equipment. But this one turned out to be an exception. I purchased this headset exclusively for using with skype, as I was a bit tired of connecting headphones and microphone separately, especially when I use my desktop computer (hard to reach the backside). So I wanted something that connects via USB, is relatively cheap and provides acceptable sound quality. I was hoping that Logitech's name and "skype certified" sign on the box warrant my satisfaction. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The sound quality is terrible. I don't even understand why Logitech tell all those things about 40mm neodymium drivers, frequency response etc on their website. Who the heck cares about those features, if sound so bad anyway? I paid $32 for it (including shipping), but my feeling is that this set should not cost more then 15-18 bucks (again, including shipping). I will just mention that when I first skyped my wife using this headset I thought I accidentally dialed a wrong number -- so much distorted and unnatural her voice was. The sound was totally messed up. Trying to listen to some music made me feel even worse. Don't take me wrong. I did not expect miracles from $32 headphones, especially those with a built-in mic and usb (as it makes it a bit more expensive). And I did not try to compare them with a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pro that I have. Even considering their low price, I think these headphones suck. My old Panasonic headphones, which still collect dust somewhere at work (use them occasionally with skype), costed $28 and, although they also have quite bad sound quality, they are way better than this Logitech headset. I am afraid even my cell phone will look ok when compared with it in terms of SQ. Ahyhow, I was very disappointed and do not recommend buying this thing. I decided I'd better stick with my old phones and mic. Also, these headphones are not very comfortable for long use. I have not had them on my head long enough to experience real discomfort but I feel that my ears would start hurt quickly if I try to do so. I would give it four stars if it were twice cheaper. But for $32 it deserves only two, in my opinion.

Strengths: None.
Weaknesses:Extremely poor microphone performance. Lack of Logitech support.
Overall Evaluation: I read the reviews on here and thought these would be a good buy. That was wrong. Poor engineering, shoddy microphone placement and non-existent customer support at Logitech make this a "do not buy!" Plug and play does not work/ Voice cuts in and out on mike.

Strengths: Very comfortable headset with easy to reach volume control. Non-obtrusive.
Weaknesses:n/a
Overall Evaluation: I would recommend this headset to anyone using "Skype" or just listening to music in private. No earpieces to fall off like some cheap headsets and they're very comfortable for extended periods of time.

Strengths: The sound on this headset is so crisp and clear even when using onboard sound. I tested out the mic on Counter-strike and that also sounds crisp and clear.
Weaknesses:It is a little uncomfortable on the ears, but wasn't much of a problem. Switching sound devices to use them is something you'll just have to deal with.
Overall Evaluation: Well this is the most expensive logitech headset I could find so I had to get it (since my 2 year old cheaper version messed up. I've had it for 3 days now and I'm enjoying every single minute of it. For the price it's a must have, if you have the money and are looking for a headset this is one you should really think about, I have trusted logitech for 3 years and they have yet to fail me.
