SP-HF1800A integrates all sound into the perfect enveloping effects around the listener with magnificent, balance, vivid, and richer quality. The middle driver uses the 4 close frame speaker unit to deliver more accurate sound performance for vocal and most instruments from 500Hz to 7,000 Hz frequency. The lower 4 woofer is for long and deep bass without distraction less than 500Hz frequency. For personal sound preference, just adjust the Bass and Treble controls.

  Duration of ownership: 2 Days

  Strengths: Acceptable price (AU$69.00), good looks, good sound and plenty of useful features (e.g. line-in,headphones, treble, bass and volume).

  Weaknesses:Minor scratch on one of the speaker boxes despite being brand new. Speaker cable to second speaker is rediculously SHORT!!!

  Overall Evaluation: My five year old stuck her fingers into my prized reference speakers a while ago. Since I didnt want to spend a lot of money but just wanted to get by until I build my new studio, I decided to buy the Genius SP-H1800 as an interim solution. Although individual instruments get a little bit lost in the mix (which wouldnt happen with expensive reference monitors) I find these speakers to be pleasantly balanced and perform quite well.The sound is warm and enjoyable to listen to. I hooked them up together with a sub-woofer to give the sound good bottom end, and to my surprise, they complement each other quite well.For $69 bucks, not bad at all. I read that the speakers arent particularly loud, but as reference monitors that sit two metres apart, thatt not a big deal as I dont want to go deaf.The only real criticism is the rediculously SHORT speaker cable of 1 metre.
