Strengths: LENS FLEXIBILITY, EASE OF USE
Weaknesses:6.1 mg. Needs an Ultra or Extreme Flashcard for best results and speede.
Overall Evaluation: Caught neck strap on a small branch. The neck strap lugs are flimsy. A moderate pull separated it from the body. If you catch the camera before it disappears Nikon will charge you $200 for repairs.Good lens interchangeability. Short battery life - get a spare battery.

Strengths: screen size, pciture quality, long battery life
Weaknesses:none so far.
Overall Evaluation: I purchased the body only and added another lens. Works great, picture quality is awesome and the ease of use for someone who has never used an SLR is amazing. I am sure there are tons of features I will learn to love as well.

Strengths: Fast responce picture ready. Good quality, sharp and vivid pictures in almost every condition - even using only the Auto mode.
Weaknesses:For some 6.0 mega pixels might seem low. This camera is not one of the lightest and also pritiest available on the market.
Overall Evaluation: I have this camera for 12 days now and I took about 400 pictures mostly to test it in many lighting conditions. It says it should take up to 3 fps but I would say it is rather close to 1.5 fps. It was never faster. This camera is not one of the lightest and also prettiest available but I use Nikon cameras for a very long time now and I can say they are certainly reliable and I don't care much about the look. This camera is not much different from its older brother D50. For now the biggest difference is the price. If I didn't get a great deal on this one I would strongly consider D50 although I didn't try D50 yet. Older technology sometimes is very slow and quick responce is required to catch your child with a funny face of once a live time moment. It just happend that my family member has bought 10 mp camera by Sony. So I could compare the two. 10 mega pixels is a plus when printing enlargements but Nikon D70s has faster responce so I could take pictures at a moment and not a half a second later. I didn't have to charge my battery yet but it says that one battery can last up to 2000 pictures. Lets hope this is true. But I am considering buying extra battery for buck up.

Strengths: Picture quality, Handling, wide lens choices, wireless lighting
Weaknesses:scarce accessories availability
Overall Evaluation: Finally bought D70s to replace my 5700. Bought the body only and seperate Nikon 28-200mm. Will get the 50mm f/1.8 soon. I'm satisfied with its performance.Works well right out of the box with minor setting. The menu layout is not much different than my previous 5700 and easy to navigate.I had some issue with underexposed images at the beginning but managed to get some opinions from other users to correct it.I would recommend this camera.

Weaknesses:only 6.1 MP, quite heavy, compact flash card not included
Overall Evaluation: This is an upgrade version of D70, I choose this camera because of its price and its ability to capture wonderful picture. For its class this camera is one of the best. the Body is sturdy, the handgrip is comfortable. It's easy to use the menu and easy to configure the option.
