  Strengths: I've owned one of these now for over a year and can only praise it. This inexpensive laser printer is FAST and very economical to operate. I love it's clear precise prints.

  Weaknesses:I can only hope that HP will place the Power switch in an easier place to get to than on the rear next time!

  Overall Evaluation: I highly recommend this HP Laserjet 1020. It has been performing flawlessly for over a year. Only had to do a routine dusting and cleaning. I get more than four reams to each toner cartridge which has averaged out to be about 2.5 cents per page versus my inkjets 12 cents per page! This monolaser simply performs better for the money than I had hoped for. Soon I'll be finding out how it will do on the P2P that I'm building. It will handle some heavy loads! Recently it flew through a 262 page report. BUY IT and ENJOY IT!!

  Strengths: Small size: can fit almost anywhere. Fast printing. Very very quiet. Inexpensive price.

  Weaknesses:The other reviewers have already said everything. Please read them.

  Overall Evaluation: When you open the box, you will look for an installation manual and find none: everything you need to know is on the CD-ROM. Before setting up your printer, run the CD and follow the instructions.Be aware that the CD-ROM the printer comes with is Version 3. In FEB 2007 HP came out with a Version 4 CD-ROM. Buy it for $10.70 from HP's website. You will need to uninstall Version 3 if you want to install Version 4.

  Overall Evaluation: I bought this for my Real Estate business. There are times when I am working from my home and I need professional looking documents rather quickly. This printer gives me exactly what I need. There is no way that I would ever go back to my old Lexmark.. As an added bonus I found it on sale at Office Max for $99.00

  Strengths: Aside from being compact & 15ppm fast, the Hp 1020 printer does a great job of printing checks and deposit slips when used with any checkmaking software and a MICR toner cartridge from checksnet.

  Weaknesses:Paper tray only holds about 150 sheets.

  Overall Evaluation: Tried a few toner cartridges from several sources for my Hp 1020 and discovered that some MICR toner is not as dark, flakes off paper and my checks were unreadable when tested at bank. Went back to checksnet cartridges, everything fine again and better page yield.

  Overall Evaluation: The HP LaserJet 1020 is a high quality, economic black & white laser printer. I bought this printer after I got tired of spending a fortune on ink jet cartridges. The toner lasts much longer and is much cheaper per page. The printer was easy to set up and I was printing my first page in minutes. The first page starts printing within seconds of hitting the print button. Printer operation is smooth and quiet. This printer is nothing fancy. It only performs one simple task - producing high quality, sharp, black and white pages. This printer retails for $199, but it seems to be readily available for $100 - $120. It just can't be beat at that price!
