Strengths: Excellent Zoom which I need as an amateur nature & wildlife phtographer. Image quality is excellent.
Weaknesses:Rather heavy with only wrist strap. Little space for holding. Couldn't find "crop" option in the image editing facility.
Overall Evaluation: Although still discovering yet, I can safely say; it's very good to serve my purposes.

Strengths: Display is huge! Pictures are crisp and clear. This camera is sexy and I get compliments on it wherever I take it. Simply takes better pictures than the NIKON cameras I have owned.
Weaknesses:This camera is a little heavy in terms of weight but it has so much punch in it's picture clarity it makes up for the beefiness of this camera.
Overall Evaluation: I would only recommend THIS camera to any of my friends or family. I will only stick with CANON cameras because of the price, reliability and quality of photos. It's the easiest point and shoot camera I'ver ever owned. Also, I think Nikkon's are overrated because I own two and need to Craig's list them because I think they are junk compared to this one. HANDS DOWN CANON MAKES THE BEST CAMERAS!!

Strengths: 10x zoom on a pocket-sized camera. Photo sharpness.Seems durable and solid.
Weaknesses:Could not find in silver, but I can live with black.....
Overall Evaluation: This camera replaced my SD500 that was getting outdated. The ONLY thing I did not like with the SD500 is that there was no zoom. I used to be a big slr fan, until I got used to putting a camera in my pocket, and forgetting I even had it. When you have an slr, it's like toting around a suitcase, compared to these smaller camera's. Slr's are great, but try to take them skiing/ hiking/ biking etc... I have shown people some 13 x 19 enlargements, and they could not believe they were from a "Pocket Camera". Very impressive picture quality with the I.S. on the zoom. The 10x optical is like using a 300mm+ SLR lens that fits in your pocket!! I also like the canon software for editing/storing the pics. I've only used it for a week, but so far, very impressed.

Strengths: Everything except for one thing.
Weaknesses:Purple Fringing.
Overall Evaluation: Excellent manual controls, good quality lens, blah blah blah.. until you actually take a high contrast picture, especially in a zoom. Look at the straight edges of an object blocking the light. Purple fringes. The most ugly fringes I've ever seen even in DCs that are half the price. What were they thinking? The bright side is that I didn't feel it's cheapo price was much of a loss, cos there's no way I can morally sell, exchange or even give away this piece if junk to anyone, even to a stranger, the guilt would plague me.

Strengths: Great zoom, faster Digic III Processor, plenty of megapixels, outstanding colors. Good enough aperture value range, great shutter speed range.
Weaknesses:Although there is a descent variety of scene settings, I would have liked to see a "museum" setting, but that can be fixed with other adjustments. Also, no viewfinder.
Overall Evaluation: So far, the pictures I have taken look great. The only things that could potentially come across as "bothersome" might be that the flash needs to be manually opened, and also that the LCD screen makes the pictures look almost a bit grainy while being taken - but after the photo is taken, it looks amazing.Honestly, this camera is wonderful. It is exactly what I was looking for: a top-of-the-line, "professional" point-and-shoot. It seems to be the border between point-and-shoots and digital SLRs.
