    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

Strengths: Fast boot up times. Display is easy to read. Good price on sale.

Weaknesses:Misses location. Gives commands to turn a little late at times. Short battery life making it usless for portability.

Overall Evaluation: This thing is a mixed bag. Many good points, not quite as many bad points. Sometimes this thing is dead on the money. Too often tho, it says turn right/left just as you pass the intersection. Other times it says to turn left/right a little too early. Love the display in bright light and in the dark. Updates for new maps takes an eternity, so be patient, nothing is wrong with your computer. I'd advise doing updates just before going to bed and it should be finished by the next morning!!My original nuvi 360 was the best and most reliable GPS I've ever used. Not sure why they couldn't just build on that one, but, the 7xx series has been eaten up with bugs. Be sure to update ASAP after you purchase it. It does take care of lots of bugs, but not all.

Strengths: A lot of fluff that isn't that useful for a dedicated navigation aid.

Weaknesses:Very hard to update with out a very fast internet connection, even with their update disk.

Overall Evaluation: I purchased this unit and attempted to update the software.I have a very slow internet connection where I live, I finally reached a CS agent after 45 minutes on hold, who said they would send me a disk with the update.Got Disk, attempted to update, 6 hours on line and still notcomplete.Discontinued update attempt and am using the installed maps.Sorry Garmin, I'll be looking at another company for my nextGPS.

    Strengths: Good display

    Weaknesses:FM traffic monitor

Overall Evaluation: The FM traffic monitor is totally unreliable. I can sit in traffic with no warning of any problem, and the device will identify heavy congestion when I am cruising at 65 mph. Tech support is useless

    Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

Strengths: Good GPS receiver. Traffic monitoring capability (at no added cost) will prove handy.

Weaknesses:Short battery life. Internal noises may mean it has a hard drive with high power needs? Loses route when turned off. Downloading map and software from the web took hours with high speed access.

Overall Evaluation: This thing has a dangerous flaw. The "Nearest intersection" shown in "Where am I?" was more than 1 1/2 mile distant when there were hundreds of closer intersections (the nearest being 400 ft away at the time). Don't expect emergency help to find you in a timely fashion! The touch screen on mine is flaky. The "touch" must be very precise and even then it's likely to activate something on the other side of the screen. Millions of POIs sounds great but it fails to list 2 of the 3 gas stations nearest my home. When driving between Sacramento and Travis AFB in CA, the names shown for streets intersecting the freeway differed from signs posted about half the time (when outside city areas). These POIs, streets and signs have been there for multiple decades. No excuse for this! It can't find its way out of parking lots to continue a journey or begin a new trip. I have a TomTom Go 300 that's about 5 years old and works better than this Nuvi 765T in the most important respects. I'll be returning the Nuvi.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Months

Strengths: Has fixed most of the voids in earlier models

Weaknesses:Still looking for an ability to input Zip Codes

Overall Evaluation: The amount of information contained in memory is staggering. Restaurants, hotels, with phone numbers is impressive. I like the fact that you can actually "stop" the incessant attempt to get you to your previously entered end point.
