Strengths: Light speed, easy 2 use, and a three-in-one antivirus-antispyware-firewall software. Less memory waste. High speed in scanning PC.

Weaknesses:Automatic live updates was sometimes hard 2 complete, but it's OK if you update it manually.

Overall Evaluation: A must have antivirus software!

Strengths: don't know -- I had to uninstall and discard it.

Weaknesses:incredibly sensitive, disruptive installation. It disabled most functions of Windows Explorer.

Overall Evaluation: Having abandoned previous versions of Norton, I read all the reviews and had high hopes for this one. Installation was fine, but ACTIVATION WAS A NIGHTMARE -- it took about an hour on chat, an hour on the phone with tech support, and an hour on the phone with a tech supervisor, who led me through an arcane workaround to get it activated. Then LIVE UPDATE WAS ANOTHER NIGHTMARE (but I gave up this time after only an hour with the supervisor). This included multiple uninstalls and reinstalls (using the double secret uninstall tool that I downloaded). Two hours after all of this, I tried once more before discarding Norton, and VOILA, activation, account setup and updates went smooth as silk. The problems turned out to be with Symantec's activation server and live update servers -- which tech support repeatedly assured me were working fine. The next day, I discovered that NIS had disabled all file operations (copy, move, rename, delete) under Windows Explorer (I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3). After another hour with a case manager, I gave up for the last time and uninstalled NIS, and all functionality was restored to Windows Explorer.

Strengths: Tight code Runs faster. This Product gets that Nod. Fairly easy to use.

Weaknesses:The ID pasword vault this is kind of a nusance, as it will confuse many non-seasoned users, All of your usernames and passwords should be stored offboard of your PC.

Overall Evaluation: I like it, look Good works Good, Price is right for a change. Looks like Norton may have learned its lesson when customers started bailing out a few years back. People want an easy to use Security Suite that doesnt use 1/3 of you PCs RAM. at idle. I geuss a few of the companies are coming to their senses now that there is compitition from ESET and others that make their software compact and fast.

    Strengths: Installation. User interface.

    Weaknesses:Memory hog. Scan isn't 100% effective.

Overall Evaluation: Easy to install and use, but other products are picking up items that Norton is missing. It's also a system hog. I will probably research other products before renewing Norton.
