Manufacturer's Description
Apple 13.3" MacBook Notebook
Instead of assembling a notebook from many minor parts, the MacBook was reinvented from just one: the solid-aluminum unibody enclosure. It gets full credit for making MacBook thinner, lighter, and even more stunning. But it?s not all beauty. Because of the unibody, this MacBook is also durable. It was designed to take on your world. So slip it into your backpack or briefcase and pull it out wherever you go ? it?s impressive in any setting.

Strengths: Solid construction, battery life, excellent (illuminated) keyboard, easy to upgrade memory/hdd, Magsafe charger awesome, speakers surprisingly robust for a machine this size.
Weaknesses:No firewire, Leopard seems to take up a lot of hard disk space, Mini-Display Port adapters not included. PriceGrabber review bonus seems to be gone :(
Overall Evaluation: I recently purchased this laptop to replace a 15" MacBook Pro (which replaced my 12" PowerBook). The 15" MacBook was a real disappointment due to it's thinner gauge aluminum, which led to a less sold machine in comparison to the PowerBook. This new 13" MacBook is rock solid; feels even more solid than the PowerBook. Build quality is better than any laptop I have ever used. Strangely, if you bring the laptop in from the cold it can take an excess of 10 mins for the metal to warm up. Laptop runs very cool & very quiet. That said; I really wish the screen was larger. I'd love a larger screen rather than the 1/2" black border. A firewire port or one additional USB port would be welcome in my opinion, but not a major issue for me. The reason I opted for the higher end model was strictly because the keyboard on the base model is not illuminated versus this model which is. May seem silly to some; but I work in the dark, and the illumination is welcome. I'm pleased that the hard disk drive and laptop are easily upgradable compared to my previous Macs.I don't have much else to say about this laptop. All my expectations for this machine have been exceeded. This is a worthy upgrade to the highly respected 12" PowerBook.

Review:
Apple MacBook (Aluminum)
Apple takes a few steps forward with the MacBook's excellent redesign, but the new model costs more as a result.
In the two-and-a-half years since the first MacBook model appeared, Apple has tweaked and improved its consumer-level laptop line three times. But compared to the baby steps of the earlier updates, the latest (fourth) version is a giant leap for the MacBook. Design improvements (both inside and out) help make the MacBook a lot more like a MacBook Pro mini.
