Overall Evaluation: I have owned this external drive for 8 months now and I an very happy with it. I use it to backup large video files primarily. The design is nice and simple. I like the rubber ends. It keeps the drive secure on a portable table that I at times roll around the house.Out of the four external drives I own, I like this WD the best. I am now buying one more to back it up. I plan to place it right on top

Strengths: quiet,big,low price
Weaknesses:unreliable undersized power supplyNo switch, indicator at the back, no vertical stand.
Overall Evaluation: The WD Elements series, while low in price, simple to use and quiet all have very weak, underdimensioned power adapters that WILL fail (no question) within 6 months of purchase. This makes purchase of these drives only sensible id you want to canabilize the SATA II drive from it to mount internally in your computer or in another external casing that has a decent power supply coming with it. As-is you do not want to trust your data to these drives. The chance of looding it is extremely high, bordering certainty. The drives inside are a nice buy though. Throw away the case and power adapter and you still have a bargain.
