Strengths: Will work any where in the world with 3 AA Batteries as a power source
Weaknesses:Is a little slow during satalite sync
Overall Evaluation: I bought one of these for my son to take with him to Iraq. (He is back now) Several other soldiers in his unit have the same unit also. He said it was one of the most useful items he brought with him from home. You do have to load the map of Iraq on to the Rino but I asked the people at Garmin and they said that it was ok for the whole unit to share one cd and load all the Rino's from that one CD (I think they had around 6 Rino 120's). I believe that at the time the world map CD cost about 100 dollars and the soldiers split the cost which worked out to about 18 dollars each soldier.Being in a strange country (one you havent been to before) it would be easy to get totally lost. The cost of the Rino 120 is a very small price to pay to help insure your loved one WILL return home safely. I highly recomend the Rino 120 to anyone going to Iraq. The short version is that it works as advertised, every time. Great gift for your soldier, Thank You Garmin. Nuff said. . . . . . .Red

Strengths: B&W Screen is easy to see in sunlight.Controls and usage easy to navigate and understand.AA Batteries available anywhere - does not need a charger.Rugged build - very durable and watertight too.
Weaknesses:Serial Interface (requires a USB adapter).Bolt for clip is not very strong.Radio quality is not the best.
Overall Evaluation: We use these for outdoor games and geocaching and they are very reliable units. They can also be used to keep track of dogs (clipped to the collar) or even kids (in backpack) using the polling feature. We are very pleased with this purchase and we will buy from Garmin again in the future as they update the Rhino.
