  BUYER BEWARE!!!! LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!! Purchased a "NEW" Garmin 1690. The unit was delayed so it was not shipped until 11-8-11. When opening the box I noticed greasy finger prints all over the unit. When I attempted to use the unit the first time the touch screen was not responsive. After a full charge and my husband getting home to set it up the unit worked for a week and then started acting up. I contacted TigerGPS to return and asked if the unit was new as advertised and told yes. After the "chat" I contacted Garmin directly to see if there was a fix. After giving Garmin the serial number I was told that it was a returned unit and not new! Garmin also took on the responsibility of getting me a new unit after they spoke to TigerGPS. I do not know why Garmin took over , but I am glad they did. This company is not one to buy from...

  Very rude and unhelpful sales service compared to any other merchant I have encountered. I was treated like a criminal and ended up having to cancel my order to avoid the Spanish inquisition.Highly un-recommended.There are alternatives out there; I suggest using them instead.

  great updates as far as making sure military persons with APO addresses know which shipping mark to use...shame it is twice as much though.

  What a joke. There's a good reason they don't post a telephone number. Service is non-existent. Sent wrong part. Argued with me for three weeks. I finally got Garmin to contact them and set them right. Took another 3 weeks to get the correct part. And I had to pay shipping to return the incorrect part and they won't re-imburse! Had I known this was a two-bit outfit I'd have shopped somewhere else. I think they're in China.

  Chat feature answered my question quickly about a feature on a personal locator beacon. Within two minutes I had my answer and ordered the product. This is my third major purchase with TigerGPS, plus numerous accessory purchases.
