Strengths: it's a reliable feature rich box at an affordable price!

Weaknesses: documentation is poor. some features like VPN don't have proper guidance in the manual.

Overall Evaluation: I've had this router for a few months now and I must say that I'm pretty impressed with it's performance. The features that I use are VPN and wireless security and the performance is great.

    Duration of ownership:2 Months

Strengths: Sleek looking, nice silver color and matte widescreen that doesn't look "too wide" or too glossy like other notebook brands. Convenient volume/mute and DVD/CD control buttons on the front.

Weaknesses: The silver color fades, especially where your palms rest on when using the keyboard, due to sweat/skin oils.

Overall Evaluation: I love the widescreen and its performance - 1.7GHz Pentium M, 1GB DDR2, 533MHz, 100GB, 8x DVD/CD-RW, Windows XP. It's a bit heavy but is lighter than my previous Compaq notebook. I customized it to have a 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300 Video card for gaming (MMORPG) and the graphics are great. The silver faded a little on both sides of the mouse touchpad after using it for a month, so now I put a piece of cloth on it to absorb the sweat/skin oils. I like the 2 different placements of the USB ports, 2 on the right side (for external mouse, keyboard) and 2 on the back (for printers, etc.). DVD/CD slot is on the left side, so it doesn't get tangled up with your external mouse cord, etc. - which is great!

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Screen, functionality, looks

Weaknesses: Lack of UltraBright option, loads of software junk

Overall Evaluation: The Dell Inspiron 6000 I ordered is euqipped with 2 GHz, 1G RAM and a 15.4' WSXGA screen. I wished Dell provided the option for the UltraBright screen but it was available on the XPS. Other than that, the computer works great and there is everything Dell promised. I wish it came loaded with a lot less junk though.

Strengths: - Centrino Processor- DVD Burner- Good Battery Life

Weaknesses: - Only SD Card Reader- No true Bright screen

Overall Evaluation: This is my second Dell Laptop. I bought this as a gift. Quality of Dell Laptop has been little better than Inspiron 8500 I have.I miss track ball, No wi-fi On/Off switch, True bright screen. Volume could have been little better. However this laptop has very good battery life. I have Inter 725 (1.6GHz) Centrino Process with Media Center - 512MB RAM (Shared Memory)- 40GB HDD (5400 rpm)- Wi-fi (Intel 2200)- DVD Burner- Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900I haven't used DVD or CD burning feature yet but played DVD and it was good. Laptop performance, Battery utilization and performance is very good.Weight is about same as Inspiron 8500, but build quality is better. I bought this for about 660 (including tax + shipping) and think its a decent price for fully loaded laptop.

Strengths: Fast (customized that way). Best bang for your buck when combined with coupons from Dell.

Weaknesses: WUXGA screen could be considered a weakness by some people

Overall Evaluation: Let me just say that the WUXGA screen is an awesome screen, but it takes a little getting used to. First of all, the resolution when put to the (1920x1200) , the letters on the screen become amazingly small and really, really hard to read. Maybe this resolution is best fit for a 17" screen. But decreasing the resolution to 1680x1050 gives readability, but might still be too small for some people. It fits my tastes just fine and I have left it at the latter resolution. But it is recommended that you don't get the WUXGA screen but rather get the WSXGA+ screen which might not offer the most resolution but offers better readability on a 15.4" screen. The WSXGA+ screen offers 1620x1050 as the max resolution. Whatever you do, stay away from the WXGA screen that Dell offers as the base screen. Have heard that it is not a very good screen. Battery life with a 6 cell battery is decent at 3 hrs and 5 mins. Bought mine from the Dell EPP site. My specs are the following: Pentium 4 760 (2 GHz) 1 GB DDR2 PC 4200 RAM 100 GB Hard Drive WUXGA LCD 128 MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300 DVD DL burner 6 cell battery Dell All in One 924 Printer

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Screen size/resolution, desktop features, price for performance

    Weaknesses: Weight

Overall Evaluation: I had been a devout Toshiba Satellite fan until Dell started rolling out their 15.4" WUXGA screens. As their description says, you get the same screen area as the top 2/3 of a 17" monitor. But if you go with the high-resolution WUXGA screen (1920x1200), you get the screen resolution of a 23" monitor. I use this as my home office computer (I'm a telecommuter), and I'm able to do all the functions as an IT manager that I used to do when I was in the corporate office using two 17" CRTs (such as view back-end code and front-end UI at the same time). Nothing else about this computer is particularly amazing -- a good middle-of-the-road processor, sound, disks, etc. I do recommend going with the 533 MHz bus and the memory to match -- it gives you the performance of most desktops with higher clock-speed processors. Upgrade to the big battery, and you get a long runtime for such a large screen. I've only seen a few other notebooks (the ones where you can stick a second battery in the DVD drive bay) that can beat this one for battery life.
