    Strengths: Extremely sharp, excellent edge to edge color with no banding, good response time, extremely sturdy.

    Weaknesses: Poor choice of USB port placement, not all features supported on Mac OSX.

    Overall Evaluation: This monitor replaces an excellent iiyama CRT. It is the best LCD monitor that I have seen in this size and price range. I am extremely happy with it and, at just over $700.00, I consider it a bargain. It arrived with all necessary cables and accessories and no dead pixels. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone.

    Strengths: Wider and bigger screen. Multiple inputs. And bright color display.

    Weaknesses: I wish it had TV tuner.

    Overall Evaluation: I've just updated my LCD to this 24" master. The wider and big screen makes my long-hour work likeable. Actually everything on the screen looks much nicer. My programming project can be expanded spaciously, and many details can be viewed and thought about at the same time. I can sit before it all day. This monitor has multiple inputs: analog, DVI, and S-Video. I'm using the DVI connection, and it gives the super display. I also watched several wide-screen DVDs, and it felt like movie theatre. The bright color is just awesome.

    Weaknesses: Location of power and video input hookups

    Overall Evaluation: The Samsung 244T has a beautiful picture portrayed in a stylishly modern slim profile. The main reason I went with it was it just had a price drop and the capability to rotate the screen for horizontal/ vertical viewing. That coupled with the LCD profile with a 24" picture was the clincher. My previous monitor was a Sony 24" CRT which took a heck of a lot of space and was very bulky. The Samsung 244T frees up a lot of desk space. It comes with MagicTune which is an integrated software program to optimize your monitor settings. It also comes with some software called Magic Rotation, which is for the monitor rotation capability. It has numerous video hook-ups, namely Analog RGB, TMDS Digital Link, CVBS, S-Video, and component. It can double as a television if you want to go that route. The one thing I found that I didn't particularly like was the location of the power and video input cable hookups which kind of stick out underneath the monitor and detract from it's overall looks. I attached a piece of 1/4" stained plywood to the bottom part of the monitor to conceal the wires and I think it looks much neater. After the price drop I don't think you can go wrong with this monitor. Highly recommended!

    Strengths: Panel properties: brightness, contrast, color saturation, response time, veiwing angle. Design: stylish, sturdy. Electronics: solid controls. Price: currently a true bargain.

    Weaknesses: USB port placement a mistake. Adjustable stand places panel somewhat high at lowest setting. No HDMI input.

    Overall Evaluation: Am upgrading from a Samsung 213T. That older 21.3" Samsung changed that way I work with it's crystal clear 1600x1200 resolution. Having said that, this large LCD is an incremental improvement in ergonomics and work efficiency.But, this generation of Samsungs, the 244T, puts to shame the older 213T. Specifically, this panel is twice as bright - I now have it set to 50% while the 213T was maxed at 100% (and it's still brighter!). While the colors on the older panel were a little washed out, the 244T came over saturated - I've backed off all color channels a couple ticks. The OSD controls are powerful and excellent - again something the older generation lacked. It's taken about a week for my eyes to adjust to the brighter, more vivid, and more true colors. Text is still crystal clear. I love it!For games and movies. . . the 213T was ghosty and blurry where this panel is "almost" blur free. I do detect a little ghosting in games playing at 1920x1200 (yes, you need a state-of-the-art system to do that), but it takes a very critical eye to even suspect it. I wouldn't hesitate to employ this panel as gaming or entertainment display.For work, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere, Visual Studio, multi-tasking. . . this is as good as it gets for under a grand.

    Weaknesses: Price.

    Overall Evaluation: I upgraded to Samsung 244T from Samsung 213T. The 213T has a lot of ghosting when playing games and DVD. Now with 244T, I don't see any ghosting. The reason for that is the low response time of 6ms. The contrast ratio is 1000:1. I've never seen this bright on 213T before. There are various input options available. It even comes with a USB cable! Another plus is the applications that came with it. To my understanding, Dell doesn't provide the application for rotation on their 2405 model. But Samsung provides MagicRotation, and MagicTune applications. A major drawback for this monitor is the price. Dell 2405 usually sells around $850 and this one is above $1400 despite of the same screen size. If you want an inexpansive 24", go with Dell. If you want THE BEST 24", you really can't go wrong with Samsung.
