Strengths: excellent photo quality. accept memory cards, LCD display. print on DVD
Weaknesses: expensive ink. heavy.
Overall Evaluation: This is the best photo printer I have had. Produce very sharp and accurate colors. also print on CD and DVDs, my first photo printers having this feature. However, the ink seems going down very quickly and I am afraid it will cost a lot to buy ink.

Strengths: Great CD printing, great color saturation
Weaknesses: Very high ink usage, bulky
Overall Evaluation: This is the second one I've owned. The first one went back to the factory right away. Both had the same problem. High Ink Usage!Let me elaborate. On both printers, when I put in fresh cartridges, the printer made the typical ink charging sound for about 5 minutes. Then, mysteriously, all the ink cartridges showed a sudden drop of 1/4 in the Status Monitor. This is totally unacceptable.Epson did not give me an argument about this, but sent me a new set. Well, the same thing happened. so now, I will get third party cartridges and keep my fingers crossed. I've owned at least 6 Epson printers. They are wonderful, but this one is irritating at best.

Strengths: Excellent printer quality, lots of features
Weaknesses: uses a lot of ink
Overall Evaluation: In summary, the Epson Stylus Photo R380 Inkjet Printer produces an excellent quality photo print, but it uses a lot of ink to do so. The ink cartridges are included with the printer (thank goodness!) and their replacement cost is about what I paid for the entire printer package ? so it is like paying for the ink and getting the printer for free. If you need help with the printer, I found Epson customer service to be helpful. This printer has tons of features. The colors that the printer produces are natural and vivid. I love this printer, but I wish it used less ink.

Strengths: Printing directly to CDs/DVDs. High quality printing.
Weaknesses: Goes through ink very fast.
Overall Evaluation: This printer is great, but be warned that the ink is expensive and you will use a lot of it! The image quality is excellent, and it is really nice that you can print directly onto printable CDs/DVDs.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Hi-def prints, large LCD
Weaknesses: Large printer for not being an all-in-one.
Overall Evaluation: This printer is one of Epson's 2nd generation Hi-Def Clarion Ink printing photo printers. The Clarion ink is unmatched in durability and longevity for your photos. The print quality is very high (5760x1440DPI) and the photos turn out great. The 3.5-inch LCD is awesome. Big enough that you can see the details of your photos to crop/enhance on the fly without a computer. The only drawback I can find in this printer is that it is quite large for not being an all-in-one printer.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Excellent photo quality, prints CD/DVDs, has memory slots and large LCD
Weaknesses: Bulky, ink is expensive
Overall Evaluation: Firs off, this printer is rather large and bulky. It uses quite a bit of ink, although having 6 different cartridges helps somewhat. This ink will cost you a lot of money, even if using off-brand. On the bright side the picture quality is superb and it prints on CD/DVDs labels. I wouldn't use it for printing text as it would be more expensive than some competition out there due to ink costs. But this is an excellent printer (although still expensive) for photos and CDs/DVDs.

Strengths: Great print quality Price Easy of use CD Tray works Great(Make sure you have printable CD or DVD's)
Weaknesses: Speed a little slow on high quality. Ink usage might be high.
Overall Evaluation: After careful research I just bought this printer. Returning to photography in the digital age after years in the darkroom as a kid. I printed on a generic HP printer but friends said I need to upgrade. It is simple to set up and the first prints were amazing. Color saturation, clarity, detail are all amazing. More importantly, paper handling, an adventure on my old (2 years) printer, is a snap. Rich, detailed prints are now the expectation. If you are a photographer, the output is as important as the equipment you use to take the picture. This was an excellent investment for me.
