Strengths: Fast, small footprint
Weaknesses: Pricey
Overall Evaluation: If you have a need to scan standard sheets of paper often, there are few substitutes for this scanner. The setup is straightforward (though I'd recommend downloading the updated software for Windows Vista from the Canon website, if using Vista). Scanning itself is VERY fast compared to regular all-in-one flatbed and sheetfed scanners. It's also got a very small foot print so if desk space is limited, this scanner should fit the bill nicely. I think the price is a bit high for what this scanner does and the technology behind it, but the time saved can easily make up for the price.

Strengths: Takes up little space. Does the job with little fuss and at an affordable price. Easy to install also.
Weaknesses: A page will jam occasionally, but easy to open and release, and rescan.
Overall Evaluation: We bought one as our first scanner for use in our tax prep business. Are working toward a paperless office eventually. A week later bought a second of this same model. Now I'm back on Pricegrabber to buy 2 more so all in my office will have their own. Will save alot of trips to the copy machine and will keep the paper volume down. Don't see any problems with the machine - but then I'm a novice at scanning, so don't have anything really to compare it to.
