Strengths: 3 HDMI inputs, best anti glare technology compared to HPT4254 model, good anti pixel burning software.
Weaknesses: none except minimal black image shadows in between.
Overall Evaluation: i really like its performance, this TV is the best among what i have reviewed in my price range before deciding on this. but the only problem i have is i do see very few pixel (shadows from previous images on the screen) burns for a split second in between the images but they fade away as the images moves along, other then that i just love this model.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Reliable, easy to use, good remote, thorough documentation, plenty of features, side ports
Weaknesses: On-screen menu navigation is a bit too complex, but everything is clearly labeled and the manual provides more than adequate explanations of all features.
Overall Evaluation: If you\\\'re not willing to pay the premium for a 1080p television of this size (and I wasn\\\'t), this is an excellent alternative. The only true 1080p content out there is Blu-Ray or HD-DVDs, so this should enough unless you really need to have the latest and greatest equipment. One caveat, though: If you intend to plug in a PC, understand that you will be limited to a resolution of 1024 x 768. (This is true of any non-1080p TV, not just this model.)

Strengths: Great out of the box picture. Easy to set up with the wizard and so far have not adjusted picture looks great. A real pleasant experience as an upgrade from SD 27" set.
Weaknesses: Have not noticed any weakness for my uses.
Overall Evaluation: So far the HP-T4264 has been terrific. It was easy to set up out of the box. I followed the quick set up guide for connecting a STB with a DVD player. When I turned the set on the wizard walked me through the initial set up. The menus are intuitive and easy to navigate. I look forward to more interaction with them as I purchase other HD components . I feel good about the purchase price and the value of the product. I recommend this tv.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Very user-friendly menus; easy to setup; swivel base is a big plus, speaker sound quality is excellent; has PC/VGA input
Weaknesses: buttons on remote could be better placed/design; no SUBTITLE button; over the air HD channel quality is mediocre to average
Overall Evaluation: This is my second Samsung 42" plasma. After owning another 42" I decided to get one for the bedroom. I have owned this for a little under a month. Just some facts first. This plasma is a 720p (not 1080p) and boasts 10W sound output, has PC in VGA connector, two standard component INs, two HDMI/DVI in, two coaxial connector, standard A/V connectors and S-Video along with digital Audio out. On the side panel is another standard A/V connectors. This plasma clearly has enough connectors for plugging in a DVD player/recorders, games, camcorders...etc. Even more fabulous is a USB port for displaying JPGs (image) files on a 42" screen. I use a flash drive for that. Now that's amazing. The VGA connector is a must. Believe it or not I set up my PC next to this plasma so I can do videochats with family and relatives across the United States. The TV weights 73. lbs with the stand and would safely sit on most large TV stands. TV setup was a snap. Take it out of the box. Plug in your connections and you're done. I have not done much tweaking with the various settings. For now everything is pretty much at default. The Digital Noise Reduction and the Digital Natural Image Engine is on and gives me a good display quality. I play DVDs on this and the images are fairly crisp. Here's the bad part. For those who don't need or don't have cable tv or satellite the over air HD channels reception and color quality is mediocre to average. The HD channel comes in strong (you can confirm the signal strength by scrolling through the menus and one nice feature is the signal strength bar). I use a rooftop antenna. That being said, the HD channels isnt crisp or sharp at all. There seems to be a lot of fracturing, blockiness, and odd fuzz around the edges of images. If you stand close to the plasma these problems are even more apparent. If you stand further away the image is respectable. These problems are as apparent when playing DVDs. Another chief complaint has to do with not having a subtitle key on the remote! My other Samsung remote has it. Now, there is a way to get subtitles but you'll have to scroll through a few screens for it. Not very smart design if you ask me. The TV's a good bargain if you want something basic and nothing spectacular. However, if you are going to spend about $1000 on plasma I would probably look elsewhere.

Strengths: Deep Blacks, Price, Appearance
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: This is my first entry into the plasma market. I had a Samsung LCD prior to this. I really feel this set gives off a richer picture. From my understanding true HD 1080p is not needed on a set this size. It is important to note that as with most plasma sets you should avoid gaming on the set for at least the first 100 hours. The are really great deals on this set right now and I have no regrets about my purchase. Samsung makes a nice set especially for the price point.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Good black/white contrasts, excellent color, universal remote
Weaknesses: none
Overall Evaluation: Although the Samsung HP-T4264 was rated slightly lower than the Panasonic TH-42PX77U, it's comparably priced competitor, the Samsung offers additional features such as universal remote, PIP, PC input, and additional HDMI input. Picture and sound quality are both excellent so far. I believe I made the right choice.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality in standard definition, HD quality is fantastic. 3 HDMI inputs and great over the air HD reception. Numerous setting options.
Weaknesses: Black bezel adds some reflection of image along borders but nothing too noticeable. Out of box set up needs some tuning which is easy. No real weaknesses.
Overall Evaluation: One of the best 42" plasmas available, OTA HD picture is fantastic and crisp. Multiple inputs and settings, and a remote that is actually of good design. Ink like blacks and a very bright color pallet. First Samsung TV purchase and am very impressed. Blu-ray looks amazing and game setting for PS3 and Xbox 360 HD gaming is a great feature. 720P is all you'll really need for HDTV's below the 50 to 55" mark, so this TV presents excellent picture quality. Picture burn in is no longer a real concern on modern plasmas, however, Samsung has gone the extra mile and added some anti burn in measures with this TV that are very useful. USB port on side is also a great add on, able to play MP3's and view photos on this near perfect set. Highly recommended.

Weaknesses: None so far
Overall Evaluation: This TV is great and was ready to go out of the box. No need for assembly of the stand. The picture and clarity of the HD channels I receive is excellent. Overall, for the price I got this TV for, I recommend it to anyone looking for a 42" TV.
